I have mild rosacea and melasma. I'm 44, so I'm battling with the inevitable effects of time. My skin changes according to a will of its own, so I never know what it's going to do. It can be very dry, or annoyingly oily. Cetaphil Cream is my favorite all-purpose "beauty" product. I've been using it for years, and I will continue to enjoy the many benefits of this cream. Cetaphil's face washes and lotions are basic favorites, as well, but this cream is exceptional. This cream has a texture that I have not seen in any other beauty product. It feels thick, and silky, and it seems to melt into my skin. It immediately makes my skin look "plumped", feel much firmer, and it sooths all dryness and irritation. Just about every other cream (even CeraVe!) burns my skin, especially around my eyes. Cetaphil actually soothes any burning, and itching. I alternate using BHAs and Retinol treatments at bedtime, and after they soak in, I apply my trusty Cetaphil, to ensure that my face stays calm and silky. I like to use antioxidant skin treatments as well, but after they're absorbed, I apply my Cetaphil, because nothing else I've found keeps my skin supple with absolutely no greasiness. I even wear this as a daytime eye cream to plump lines and sooth puffiness and I've worn it under makeup (I let it sink in before makeup application) on days when my skin is irritated. My daughter's pediatrician recommended Cetaphil cream for use on diaper rash, and also for both my sons' exzema. The jar is HUGE and a little goes a long way, so Cetaphil cream is a bargain all around. I would pay much, much for for this cream, but I'm so glad I don't have to!

My mom was recommended this for her dry skin that cracks and bleeds and it worked for her so I thought I'd try it on my peeling, dry skin.

It does work, but it's VERY greasy. I always put it on before I go to bed, and then take a shower right away in the morning otherwise I feel SO disgustingly greasy all day. It doesn't really have a scent to it. It's creamy and goes on really good. I like it a lot and will continue using it...I just wish it wasn't so greasy.

For the reviewer who found cetaphil greasy, i would guess she's using too much. i'm really picky and i have compared many of the popular brands. I find eucerin a bit too sticky. aquaphora is greasy, but also supergreat for heavy duty use and long wearing-- pediatrician recommended it. i love cetaphil. keep it near the shower. carry tube in my purse.

Comments about Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream, Fragrance Free, 16 oz:

Cetaphil is the absolute best (the only thing that comes close is Cerave). I have severly sensitive skin with severe dermatitis. I had tried hundreds of lotions and creams before, but they burned my skin and did not work. I bought Cetaphil (hesitantly, due to the high price) without any hope... and the second it touched my skin, I was in heaven and I literally cried because it is the first product I found that could soothe my forever painful skin. It is instant, cooling heavenly relief. It is a bit greasy on my face if I use too much but it doesn't clog pores or cause any other negative reactions. I go through two tubs per month but it is absolutely worth the cost... I recommend Cetaphil to anyone and everyone, with any type of skin. It is incredible.

My baby got serious eczema since she is less than one month and now she is almost 3 years old. visited doctors from different hospitals and tried numerous applications and i feel sorry for my baby that it take so long to find a good thing for her. It does smooth her skin and make it less itchy. I plan to buy another 2 jars as it take much longer to take them back to China.

My dermatologist recommended Cetaphil for my extremely dry skin. First I tried the lotion which worked, then I switched to an equivalent lotion from another company. They both took forever to absorb and left my skin feeling sticky. The cream is wonderful. Goes on almost dry, leaves my skin soft but never sticky and doesn't run off my lotion applicator before I can rub it into my skin.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream - Fragrance Free

                         – Behind every Cetaphil product is the guiding philosophy of gentle power. Skin should be cared for without feeling greasy and heavy. This belief is encapsulated in Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream, a fragrance-free blend of emollients and humectants that has been specially formulated for dry, sensitive skin.

                        Dry Skin

If your skin is dry, it is likely that it lacks sebum, the natural oil which lubricates the outer surface of the skin. Dry skin can easily become itchy and irritated. You can soothe and nourish dry skin by applying Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream on a regular basis. The unique combination of humectants and emollients in this rich, hydrating formula draw moisture into the skin and lock it in. Your skin can feel smooth and comfortable for several hours after application.

                        Sensitive Skin

Dry skin often reacts more easily to irritants, such as harsh chemicals or synthetic fragrances. Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream has been specially developed to be kind to sensitive skin. Because it is fragrance free, it may be less likely to trigger an adverse reaction. This nourishing cream can even be used on skin that is prone to skin conditions, such as psoriasis and eczema.

                        Easily Absorbed

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream sinks into the skin quickly and is readily absorbed. It does not leave behind any greasy or sticky residue. Skin immediately feels soothed, softened and rejuvenated.

                        How to Use

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream should be massaged into the skin as often as required. Pay particular attention to areas of rough, dry skin, such as the elbows, knees, heels and hands. It is often beneficial to apply moisturizer directly after showering or bathing, while the skin is still damp. In this way you can lock moisture into the skin. Applying moisturizer before retiring for the night can allow it time to work on your skin as you sleep.
