I use retin-a on my face with the Obagi blender and Obagi Clear cream. Sometimes the Obagi acne serum as well. La Roche-Posay Anthelios sunscreen. I need a moisturizer which JUST MOISTURIZES. I do not want any retinol, glycolic acids, anti-wrinkle ingredients, sunscreens, brightening agents or anything else. Just TRY and find one at the drugstore, it's impossible! What I use on my face is extremely powerful and I don't want to add anything on top of it. My skin is completely porcelain smooth, BUT it requires a LOT of maintenance, I actually break out really easily if I don't take care of it. I don't have sensitive skin, but I will break out with the wrong kind of lotion, usually after two or three days. I have been looking for just the perfect moisturizer for literally years! For a long long time I used the Mary Kay timewise moisturizer for dry skin, but it was never moisturizing enough, especially at night. I was at my boyfriend's house and when i got out of the shower there was a bottle of cetaphil there. I had a vague idea that it was a gentle facial moisturizer, so I put some on and absolutely loved it. The next day I went to use it again but then noticed that it said "perfect for use as an all-over body lotion." I was like, well, I better not use it on my face, and I used it all over my body instead and loved that. It feels very very similar to the Origins Precipitation - at a fraction of the cost. (I will admit Precipitation smells SO good it's worth the price to me.) I checked online and read a bunch of reviews and realized it IS used for the face. I LOVE IT! It is so moisturizing that I don't even need a separate eye cream. My nose tends to get quite oily, and this does not exacerbate it at all. During the day I mix just a dab with my sunscreen. I wear mineral makeup and it does not ball up the way it can over other creams with lots of moisture. If it doesn't break me out it will not break you out! It's so moisturizing, but doesn't make your face stick to your pillow and hair. It feels so good and I enjoy putting it on. Buy this!

My wound care doctor, and several nurses from my Home Health care agency, recommended Cetaphil for me over a year ago, to treat the stasis-dermatitis associated with my venous-stasis condition in my legs. My favorite nurse who stayed with me for 18 months, bought me a bottle, so I would try something different from my usual brands. I typically used lotions with lots water, parabens, and cetyl alcohols, from lack of knowledge, and my condition requires deep safe moisturizing, because I can develop deep ulcers if I don't do so often, and daily.

This lotion smelled horrible, like rotting protein. Another thing I noticed, was even though my skin felt greasy and heavy, it still felt itchy and dry underneath. Because the water content is so negligible, this lotion seals the skin, but doesn't trap enough water under the greasy barrier to relieve any dry itchy feeling. Some lotions are all water, and when the water dries (because of cetyl alcohols and other alcohols), you feel dry and itchy several minutes later. Cetaphil takes hours to absorb, and your skin maintains that lubricated sensation, but it just lacks because I want some water to cool and refresh that dry itchy sensation under the grease.

What I started doing was putting my water intensive lotion on first, and then before it has time to completely evaporate, put the Cetaphil over it, and the result was a reminder of the old adage, "water and oil don't mix." I still apply my water-intensive lotion, and make sure it is well absorbed, before applying a thin layer of Cetaphil to prevent rapid evaporation, and it is somewhat effective when used that way. Who has the time for a double application? While Cetaphil has been more medically recommended to me, my bottle has lasted me over 18 months, because I avoid using it unless I have really dry patches which need an extra layer of protection. A nurse this past summer told me that the Cetaphil in the tub provides better results than the Cetaphil in the pump, I haven't decided if I will buy it myself or not. A little bit really goes a long way.

Comments about Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion, Fragrance Free, 16 fl oz:

I hesitated to spend more on "just" a body lotion, but I love this lotion. It eliminated my itchy winter skin and is great on my son's year round severely dry skin.

I have used this product every day for over 30 years! It's great and has kept my skin smooth and soft.

It is fragrance free, which is nice because I like to blend it with other fragranced lotions I like but which aren't very good at moisturizing.

Comments about Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion, Fragrance Free, 16 fl oz:

I have always had chronically dry skin, the kind where I am miserable if I don't moisturize after bathing because I would literally shrivel up. I was always itchy, especially when the weather turned colder in the fall. I used to use Lubriderm, but about 25 years ago switched to Cetaphil. What a difference! I have been using it every since and do not have any of the problems I used to have with Lubriderm, plus I like the fact that Cetaphil is fragrance free. I am such a fan, I think I should own stock in the company!

Comments about Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion, Fragrance Free, 16 fl oz:

I use this product twice a day after I wash my face. My skin is pretty normal, it gets a little dry in Winter but it also can get a little oily in hot weather. It's not really problematic, but it has its own problems too. I breakout occasionally, about once a month or so, but nothing major really, just one or two pimples and they're not bad.

This moisturizer is great for people with normal to dry skin; it's best to be used in Winter.

I wouldn't really recommend it for people with oily skin, but maybe if you use a good toner you'll be able to use this moisturizer with no problem.

I'd give it 5 points (because it suits my skin very well, I think this product is perfection! Especially if used along with the facial cleanser), but the only problem is it can get a little greasy so it may not suit people with oily skin. But overall, I'm totally in LOVE with this moisturizer. I'll use this as long as they make it..

Comments about Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion, Fragrance Free, 16 fl oz:

I have incredibly sensitive, acne-prone skin. I have used numerous products for acne control, but this moisturizer has remained a constant in my facial care routine. It is incredibly gentle for sensitive skin, but it moisturizes well. It is not greasy and it does not cause my face to break out. I apply this moisturizer in the morning, and I can still feel its effects in the afternoon. It does not feel heavy and I do not have shiny skin because of it. Rather my skin feels refreshed and moisturized all day. I highly recommend this product.

The nurse practioner at my doctor's office suggested I use this lotion but I threw it away after two months. It does smell strangely, which I can handle, but it takes a long time to absorb and even after ten minutes my hands were always greasy until I used a hand towel to remove the excess. It is so rich that you only need a tiny amount but I'd rather have a lotion that penetrates my skin quickly.
