I bought a new HE Washer & when I was doing research on HE detergents, I decided to go the natural way. I am very sensitive to detergent anyway & I knew they contained harmful ingredients, but I did not know the extent of it! The information I uncovered was nothing short of alarming. I plan on making my own laundry soap, but I needed to get started with something in the meantime. Charlies Soap seemed to fit the bill for me. I read alot of information online & decided to give it a try. The stuff is GREAT! I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it at all. Also, I have been a faithful user of Downey for many years. I loved the original april fresh pink top formula, but the past few years, it has gradually changed & now it doesn't even seem to be the same product. Well, my problem has been solved with this washing powder... YES, it is true! Although I miss the scent of the old downey, that lingered for days & days, I am happy to have found this great product that eliminates the need for it! The laundry comes out feeling soft & the towels are becoming absorbent once again. I haven't noticed any static cling either. I now have the ingredients to make my own soap & I will give it a try. But if it comes up short to Charlies, I will remain a loyal customer. Thank you Charlie, for making this great product & thank you drugstore.com for your excellent service!

A friend of mine recommended this detergent to me when I was shopping around for something safe to use on cloth diapers. It was a little expensive, but I tested it out and haven't gone back to any thing else since. As the product clearly says, there isn't any scent. So expect that. Your clothes won't come out smelling like lavender, but they WILL come out clean. It is gentle enough for cloth diapers; I've been using Charlie's Soap on my daughter's diapers for a year and running now. I use it to spot treat stains and underarm icky-ness. Just wet the area, sprinkle the detergent on and scrub in a bit. Then I launder as normal. I haven't had to repeat the procedure yet. And although the price is a little steep, keep in mind it will last for months. I generally wash a load a day and one tub keeps me supplied for at least two months.

As a whole family with sensitive skin, one person with very severe skin allergies, Charlie's Soap Powder is our miracle. The only reason I don't give it five huge stars is that it isn't automatically effective on stains, BUT soaking stained items pre-wash in a more concentrated solution with Charlie's Soap Powder works on almost all stains. It's also incredibly awesome for cloth diapers - our very well-used cloth diapers look brand new.

Charlie's is a "green" product, safe for the environment, our washing machines, and our skin. It can be used for baby clothing, linens, adult clothing - anything that goes in the machine. It is also economical - 100 loads in one 2 lb. tub! I'm sold on this product and have been for years now.

I like that this is clean and natural, and doesn't leave residues. You can use it in both hot and cold water (and by the way, did you know that there's no point to using hot water? Doesn't clean any better, and it just wastes energy! Soak your really dirty clothes before washing in cold water and you're fine!)

All natural, very economical and works so well. Due to MCS, only soap my husband tolerates. Formulated by a chemist and successfully tested by the military. Have used it for 6 yrs now. Am just sorry they do not make a dishwasher detergent.

I love this detergent. I am obsessed with white whites and have hard water, so after using Charlies alone for over a year, I started using the Booster too. It has made an incredible difference. Liked it alone, love it with the booster! I am allergic to a lot of soaps and this has never bothered my skin, or my kids skin.

Charlie's Soap works very well for me. I have very sensitive skin and very hard water; a bad combination. With Charlie's my clothing comes out clean and fresh, and my skin does not react one bit.
Please follow all care instructions on your garments. Run a large/heavy load with two (2) doses of Charlie's Soap Laundry Powder and a few old rags to clear your washing machine of any residue left by other garments. It may take 3-5 washes before those old residues are fully removed and you notice the long lasting benefits of Charlie's Soap for Laundry - low suds, softer clothes, clean scent, etc. When in doubt, re wash. For an ida of what your laundry will eventually look like, wash a load of bath towels 3 consecutive times. If you have hard water, consider adding Charlie's Soap Booster to your wash.
