The Importance of Screening for Glucose and Ketones in Urine. When there is too much sugar (glucose) or ketones (products that result when fat breaks down in the body) in the blood, it spills over into the urine. Fasting, starvation diets, or diabetes may cause ketones in the urine. Ketones and glucose in the urine are not normal and could be a sign of illness, stress, or poor diabetes control. The presence of ketones or glucose in the urine may mean you need medical attention.
Comments about Chemstrip uGK Urine Test Strips for Glucose and Ketones, 100 ea:
The strips sometimes had trouble absorbing the urine. It looked like the paper had a thin coat of plastic over it. After carefully reading all 3 product instructions, I compared them side by side with a national chain drugstore brand Ketone Strips and the name brand Ketone Strips and found Chemstrip did not always measure ketones accurately. The bottle is hard to open and if you are not careful the strips fly out when you open it.
