My hair feels like silk. I have my hair colored regularly at a very good salon. In between I do my own styling. Hot iron, curling iron....etc. THis product protects my hair and leaves it set, but silky. I love it! I use my Aveda conditioner after shampooing and Chi shampoo and Chi Iron Guard.

I have very fine, fragile hair and this product is terrific at protecting it from the heat of either the dryer or the flat iron. It is very light - my hair is so fine that anything weighs it down, but this just increases resilience and leaves my hair looking smooth and healthy looking.

It would take forever for my hair to curl using
a curling iron. Then I searched for a product to
use to minimize dryness and to get a good set.
This product is the best I can find so far - I've
tried using cheaper brands but they are not as
effective as Iron Guard, which works well for me.

I really like this Chi Iron Guard Heat Protectant Spray because--unlike all the others I have used--this one does not leave your hair greasy-looking a day or 2 later. You spray it on dry hair just prior to flatironing for smooth, frizz-free results with only a few passes of your flat iron.

The only problem I have with it is the smell--it smells like a man's cologne or aftershave. It should be lighter, more fruity and feminine imo. Thankfully, most of the smell is gone after you use it, only a trace remains. If it smelled better, I would've given it 5 stars.

I started out using this with my Chi straightening iron, but quickly discovered it works even better with just my blow dryer.I spritz it on and comb it though my hair after towel drying my hair , then I blow my hair dry, and just brush my hair as I blow it dry. Chi Heat Guard takes away all my frizzies and makes my hair silky smooth, plus I don't get that flat, low-volume look that can come with using a straightening iron.

I talked to my stylist about this product and she thought it was a great idea to use it when I blow-dry my hair.If it is making your hair stiff or sticky, you are probably bringing the bottle too close to your head so that the product concentrates in one place.--hold the bottle farther from your head and comb the product through your hair before using the iron or blow dryer.

I use this before flat ironing hair, on dry hair and it works well. My two complaints with it are that it has a perfume smell and it seems to weigh my hair down some after use. On the plus side, it takes down probably 3/4 of the frizz instantly and works well with a flat iron. If you want even better results, use CHI Infra Shampoo & CHI Infra Treatment, then work a small amount of CHI Silk Infusion in damp hair (after showering) and let it air dry. Once hair is dry, then use CHI iron guard and it makes hair look even better. I would suggest using this routine for dry air days or winter weather or hair might feel a little heavy as the day wears on.

I have used this product for several years and would not want
to be without it. I need to use a curling iron nearly every day on
my fine hair. I also get regular perms. Chi Iron Guard spray
protects my hair while giving light support to each curl resulting
in smoother, better body to my styling.
