Upon receiving this flat iron for Christmas, I was a bit skeptical because I love my original CHI so much; however my old CHI was just that... old. It was time for a new iron, and I was planning to invest in the same model, but instead I was surprised with this little gem.
The iron heats up quickly, and while it advertises itself as a 'one pass' iron, it does take more than one pass to straighten my thick banana curls... but it takes less time than the original CHI. The slilcon strips on the ceramic plates really help with snagging and pulling which is great because that is the one problem I had with the original CHI. This iron has cut my straightening time from almost an hour to about 25-30 minutes, which is great! The long swivel cord (9 ft) is also extremely useful, especially when doing others' hair, which I do alot. I really have no problems with this iron, other than it is pricier than the original... but it is SO worth it. This product, like all CHI products, also comes with a lifetime warranty, so if it were ever to break, I know that I will have a new one soon. Overall, I rate this flat iron five stars.
Furthermore, I like my CHI products better than my GHD and FHI irons, which are almost double the price.

It's not fancy, but does exactly what I've come to expect from Chi flat irons. Straightens my hair quickly and leaves it silky (no flyaways). I purchased a Babyliss Pro due to great reviews and the ability to set the temperature but it just didn't leave my hair feeling as nice as Chi. So returned it and went back to tried and true. I also have a 7 year old Chi (at my boyfriend's house-still works great) and an Amika and a Sedu (now both in a cabinet doing nothing). I agree with other reviews that I'm not sure the silicone strip adds much (this model is pricier than basic original Chi). I bought it for the cord; which is 9 feet and a real professional weight and swivel cord. I do love this flat iron.
