This is the second CHI Turbo Ceramic Curling Iron I have purchased from drugstore.com in a year. My first was purchased in January 2011 and lasted only until June 2011. The second was purchased in July 2011 and lasted until February 2012. The curling iron heating element stops working and the iron will not stay hot enough to curl hair. When this curling iron works it is fabulous - which is why I replaced the first one. For this much money the curling iron should last more that 6 months. Clearly the product is defective, but I was told by customer service that they cannot do anything about it. Do not waste your money on this product!

I recently had my hair professionally straightened, so I researched quality curling irons and found this product at the MOST COST EFFECTIVE PRICE including [...]. Plus, I know that drugstore.com stands behind their products. Overall, I am very pleased with the performance from this curling iron. Tip: Read the instructions, especially on how to turn it on initially by the wall plug-in cord - quite tricky and setting the digital temperature setting.

Purchased 1 1/2" curling iron. The clamp does not firmly hold hair and it is difficult to curl hair when the section slips out repeatedly. I have long medium thickness hair. I tried hold the clamp down tighter with an extra finger to hold the hair around the barrel, but this is awkward and I should not have to do this. Other than the too loose clamp that does not tighten up, it would have been a really nice iron. It is useful with the clamp like it is to use only for smoothing hair and frizz. Wish I had not thrown away the box before I discovered it does not hold the hair.

I'm not into styling my hair all the time--I don't even blow-dry regularly--but I like to do something extra for special occasions. This is a very good curling iron. I have long, wavy hair, so I got the wide barrel just to enhance waves. This paired with a heat protectant works wonders. I'm very happy with it, though I will add that I'm sure I could've gotten something without the bells and whistles that works just as well.

I love the Chi flat iron, but the curling iron is way too heavy and bulky. It also requires a complete plug in to use it. I didn't like it at all.
