Following is a general guide to start planting. 1. Place Wonder Soil wafer into planter. Add about 2/3 cup of water. The wafer will expand into a nutrient filled growing mix. If there are any pieces of wafer visible, add a little more water as necessary. Gently level. 2. Set the 3 bulbs (flat side down) on top of the Wonder Soil and gently press down to adhere bulbs into the growing mix. The Wonder Soil should not cover the bulbs. It is to provide support when the bulbs begin to root. 3. Water sparingly. You want the bottom of the bulbs to be in contact with moisture, yet do not want the bulbs to soak in water. 4. Place your plants to bright sunlight, but do not place in direct sun. Paperwhites prefer temperatures between 60 – 65 degrees. 5. Your bulbs will sprout quickly and provide you with fragrant beautiful flowers within weeks. Special tips: Paperwhites tend to grow tall and some stalks may lean or topple without support. For stronger, shorter stemmed paperwhites, here are 2 tips you may want to try: A) Immediately after planting, place the planter in a cool, dark location for 1 week. This allows the roots to develop a stronger root system before the stalks emerge. B) Water your paperwhites with a solution of rubbing alcohol and water. One capful of rubbing alcohol to 1 quart of water will act as a growth regulator and create shorter stems that will be less likely to bend and topple. This technique will not affect your blooms.
