I was nearly certain that it was an extremely bold cutting edge April Fool's gag, but decided to search for one just in case it was real. After striking out at retail outlets, a web search proved successful, and I bought three - two for dyed in the wool Republican friends, and one as a collectible. Even after they were in my hands, I found it hard to believe that the Chia group at Joseph Enterprises would actually produce a product with such an appalling backlash potential. Can you image the boardroom discussion which resulted in the decision to actually manufacture and release this product? My musings conjured images of right wing talk radio hosts and advertising campaigns [...] However, I have yet to hear anything of the sort. Either the product is a very well kept secret, or I have simply become paranoid over the last eight years. In any case, I would be amazed if this doesn't result in at least one good SNL sketch. I predict that this item will become a timeless cult classic in the genre of wildly inappropriate satire. All it had in the box was the planter which is small. I was very disappointed as I had to jump through hoops to get the missing items. Your establishment charged the same price once you take into account gasoline and drive time. Fantastic deal and place to shop! Item itself is easy to grow and looks good! We open the door and little Boo Boo runs out and wizzes right on the head. Great gift for animal lovers. Quite symbolic of how America views this president. Comments about CHIA Barack Obama, Determined Pose, 1 ea: This was a great stocking stuffer for our 24 year old. The nostalgia of getting a chia pet like he'd gotten so may years ago with a set of sea monkeys was sweet enough, but add that to the playful disagreements he and his dad have over politics, and he laughed so hard we were all in tears. Did I mention it is functional? Our daughter harvests the sprouts, or like she likes to put it, "gives the prez a haircut." She uses the sprouts on sandwhiches, in salads or in an interesting shake she drinks a few times a week.
