But when a friend of mine said her kids take it, I figured I'd give it a try - after all if my son hated it, now I had someone I could give it to! We got about a week and a half use out of this and it's not exactly cheap. I'm of the firm belief you get what you pay for so I decided to buy something a bit more expensive, I just thought it would last longer. The higher the age, the higher the dosage so this may work better for a very young child who doesn't need to take as much. Otherwise, the vitamin seemed to keep my kids more healthy but the taste is so bad, my kids cringe everytime I put it out at breakfast time. And I'll be honest, the smell of the iron alone is bad enough just coming out of the bottle. I do not smell orange mango in the least bit. So we are moving on to another vitamin that will give us at the very least a month worth of dosages. I am in nursing school so my son has to go to daycare 4 days a week and prior to giving him the Childlife Multivitamin and Vitamin C Supplement he would be sick from just one daycare day! Now that he has been getting his daily vitamins he has NOT BEEN SICK ONE TIME!! The one thing that is not so great about it is when the vitamin gets low you have to pour it out to draw up the vitamins! I did find at my local drugstore this thing called an "ezy dose" which you stick down into the medicine bottle that way you can just turn the bottle up and stick the oral syringe in the bottle and pull out the vitamins that way:)It would be nice if a syringe and an ezy dose were provided to ensure accurate dosing and safety for our young kiddos!! I give my 2-year old a sippy cup of half water and half OJ each morning with a dose of this liquid vitamin mixed in. He loves it and I know he's getting his vitamins. A win-win. It's the only vitamin I have been able to get my children to take on a regular basis. Plus its organic and natural. I have a pitcher and I add it to juice, so its premixed. You have to do the math, but the way I have it planned out is my kids gets one glass of juice in the morning and that has their daily vitamins and also a tablespoon of Benefiber. It has been a miracle worker for her to take vitamins and fiber every day with out a fight!
