I bought the "Chillow Plus Pillow" believing it would work great. Well, it does cool, if you can get it to stay put. It slides all over the place & I did put a pillowcase over it & on top of my pillow....to no avail. I don't like sleeping on vinyl either. By morning, it was all "bunched up" terrably. I followed instructions for bunching & it still stayed bunched up. I redid it again & again..to no avail. No matter what I do, the stuff in it stays bunched. [...]

I was excited until I took it out of the box and had to fill it with water and lay it flat for 4-6 hours. Then it becomes very heavy and the plastic doesn't feel that great. You place it under your Pillow cover and after about 15 minutes it's just as warm as you are. I pray for a better solution because this is not it for my night sweating problem. Don't waste your money.

Simply the best invention ever for hot flashes/night sweats. I was skeptical that this would work since it had not been refrigerated or frozen. I was quickly amazed at how cold it really got. You must follow the instructions and get the air out like they tell you to and as long as you do, it works fabulously. I don't know what others are referring to saying it breaks/leaks after so long. Mine has lasted quite a while with constant use. They must have overfilled it repeatedly if that happened over and over and the pressure was too much on it. Also someone else said it didn't get cold for them. They must not have swooped the air bubbles out like they tell you to periodically. If you do what they tell you, you have nothing but fabulous results!

Love my Chillow! I am about to buy my third. Left the last one at a motel last week, and it was about a year old. The first one was 2 years old when I finally replaced it (because it gotten mildew over the winter -- storage problems). They never ever leaked. For those who dislike the fact that it doesn't stay inside a pillowcase, it doesn't really work properly with one, so just get rid of the pillowcase. I freshen it up occasionally with a bit of bleach water.

I used these for about two years; they do keep your pillow cold for about 10 minutes, which for me is just about the right time to fall asleep... I have a really hard time falling asleep with a warm pillow. The major problem with the pillow is that they last about 5 months, then the seal breaks and you get water in your bed and they only offer the warranty for two pillows, after that you are stuck buying another. I stopped using them because you have to send them back every 4-5 months for a replacement.

I've read some complaints that the Chillow doesn't stay put. Well I like it best on top of a memory foam contour pillow. The curves of the pillow hold it in place. I don't use a pillow case over it; I like the coolness of the soft vinyl material right on my face. I was skeptical at first, but the soft material is really comfortable. I have oily skin and the Chillow helps in reducing oil while I sleep. Additionally, it acts as a pillow protector because oil from my skin is easily wiped off the Chillow in the morning. I recommend for people with acne and oily skin. Philip, Pelham, Alabama

This is a waste of money. 1st- the design has no way to "hold"/attach it to your pillow so it just falls out of the pillowcase in the middle of the night! I bought it to cool my hot flashes and the water in the pillow just GETS HOT!!! You CAN'T freeze it and its much too large to keep in refrigerator [and the manufacturer doesn't suggest that anyway]. This was a good idea gone VERY BAD in execution. Thanks for listening, Lisa

I love this product because it has allowed me to sleep during our hot Sacramento summers. I have always been a "hottie" and my face easily turns red whenever I have a hot-flash. The downside of this product is its proclivity to leak around the plug. This not only causes it to leak water on the pillow, but also allows air to seep in causing it to lose its "vacuum" which leaves it looking like a marshmallow. It will not work as described when this happens. I have dealt with this by buying more than one at a time. It is an imperfect product, but nothing else has even come close to this product in allowing one to stay cool on ones pillow. I am a chillow junkie!

I have a neurologic disease which causes me to have severe hot flashes and excessive sweating, especially at night. I got the Chillow and have found a great relief with discomfort use every night and have cut down on sweating. When I get hot flashes I just put it over my body and get instant relief when it took hours before to get relief of both. I love it am waiting for it to go on sale again to get a couple extra and one for a friend.
