Unfortunately Chillow must have changed the way they make this product. Purchased 2 in 2008 that worked wonderful for night sweats - stayed really chilly for long periods of time. Finally they each started leaking in 2011. Bought 2 more...1 sprung a leak w/second use and neither chill to the level of the old ones. I would still recommend but not with the same excitement.

Service and delivery comments:

One Chillow started leaking on second use. Drugstore.com sent a replacement Chillow and provided a return shipping label for the defective one. Received the new Chillow before the bad one was received by them. Customer service is excellent.

Best ever for those of us who need to feel cool when sleeping. Very easy to pull together. I had my doubts, but am most pleased with it.

To wake up in the middle of the night WET - not so great. The "plug" design leaves much to desire and I, for one, am afraid to sit on it, lie down on it, or use it in any way other than look at it.
Too bad for the money I have spent on it.

I have tried absolutely everything to keep my hot head cold at night. I've never been a good sleeper but it's doublly difficult when I'm so hot natured. I've tried different pillows, fans on my head and then...my wife bought me The Chillow. Honestly, I thought it would be another let down at first but I was willing to try anything. I'm not one to promote products but this thing is GREAT! It actually last through the night without even being turned over! Originally, we bought another one about a year later because the 1st one lost it's shape and the gel stuff inside got stuck together in the middle-then I read the directions-my mistake-you are supposed to do monthly maintainance which is very simple. I couldn't even be upset about it because it was an inexpensive mistake. Really, you can't go wrong with this-you won't be disappointed.

I saw this Chillow product five years ago when I had thought of a similar design and then found it already existed. I wish I had bought it way back then because it totally works and I am sleeping way better now. I use it because my neck/head gets very warm at night, especially in the summer, and am always flipping my pillow to get to the cool side. Not anymore. The Chillow stays cool well after I fall asleep and even hours later when I wake up in the night. By morning, it is warm where I have been sleeping on it, but turn the pillow around and it is very cool for the rest of the morning. Excellent product!

I have been a dedicated Chillow user for 11 years and for about the first 9 of those, I LOVED Chillows, gave them as gifts, couldn't tell you enough good about them. True, they would wear out after about two seasons and need to be replaced, but the amount of comfort they provided was fabulous. They kept their shape nicely, and putting my head down on them was like placing it in cool water, minus the wet. But somewhere in the past two or three years, the design changed. Now it's nothing more than a loose foam pad inside a plastic shell. The result is, the thing isn't as cool to begin with, and loses its chill must faster than the old models. And that ridiculous foam pad bunches up within a couple of uses. That's not an issue so much for me, but it is for my two daughters. After a few nights, the pad is so snarled up, it's impossible to straighten out. That NEVER happened with the old design. It's very disappointing and I can no longer recommend this product.

I place this inside my pillowcase on top of my pillow at night. Keeps my head cool all night. I believe that Hot flashes are less severe, and less frequent. I recommend this to anyone that gets hot during the night.

This "pillow" is not comfortable and does not stay cool the entire night. It turns into a heating pad a few hours after falling asleep. You end up waking up in a pile of sweat and a HOT pillow underneath you. It's a piece of garbage and shouldn't even be on this website.

I would lay it next to me in bed and when a hot flash began I would grab it and hug it to me. It allowed me to sleep for the first time in a long time. It worked wonderfully. Now I'm getting one for my dog to lay on when we get in from a long run.

I love the fact that refrigeration isn't needed. It is really a unique device. Simplicity at its best!
