I am very happy with this product. This sure did come in handy here in Florida--it is amazing after working outside. I store mine always in the refrigerator (do not store in the freezer). It's great to sit on and lean your back into it & cools your body down instantly. It also came in handy when the Air Conditioner went out! What I love is that it is not frozen so you do not get that freeze-type burn putting it directly on your skin, plus it easily molds to your body. I read the other reviews and am not sure why anyone would think that this would stay just as cool hours and hours later. It is not an electrical device that you plug in. My recomendation would be to follow the directions they give you to a "T". After that--enjoy!

Been using this for a month. Yes, it bunches up and needs to be massaged back to flat. When used with a polyester pillow(under the pillow case) it warmed up fast and stayed very warm. When used with a FEATHER pillow it cools all nite long. For a month, no more hot flashes (well, one series of hot flashes, just one night, when on the polyester pillow). PLUS, I now sleep all thru the nite...had not done that for the past two years! This thing is GREAT!! Could improve stability with separate chambers or something to keep the foam from bunching up. Had to refill it after 3 weeks...tho no leaks, it was much lighter.(When newly filled, it weighed 8 pounds. It had lost 4 pounds).

I Love the idea of the Chillow and it does what it says it does however, as others have said, it does bunch up easily and when the inside material gets a fold in it it is difficult to straighten out. I would also like it better if it stayed cool longer. I may buy another one so I can exchange them when they get warm.

I, too, bought this for my hot flashes. I bought my first chillows back in 2003 and they lasted a looooong time and I never refrigerated them. After a while, they did develop leaks, so I bought another two. I noticed a difference immediately out of the box. The plastic appeared to be thinner, the pad inside was thinner, and these developed leaks within a few weeks. More importantly they did NOT stay cool very long, just under an hour. I was SO disappointed.

I'm giving this 4 starts because I have found nothing better. I suffer from night sweats as well. I don't use the Chillow in my pillow, instead I sleep with it under my upper back and it helps me get to sleep. I do need to chuck it off the bed in the middle of the night because it absorbs my body heat and is hotter than I am! The trick with the rolling is to add extra water and then grab an edge with the foam between the layers and shake it down. It instantly smooths out. If only someone would come up with one that cycles cool water in and out of the device during the night!

Love it! For those who don't think it works, make sure you get all the air out (follow directions). I put mine in a separate pillow case on the rare occasions it is too cold. When it's hot, I put it under the sheets at the foot of the bed about an hour before bed time, then move to my pillow when I climb in...keeps my feet cool as I fall asleep. This will be my third, the cat popped the first two. Can't fall asleep without it!

I use my chillow every night and don't even travel without it. I have recommended it to many people and all but one of them use it every night. If your pillows are too high it may bunch up. It should stay quite smooth if you change the water every couple of months.

We have 5 of these pillows. My wife and I love them. They dont stay cool all night but I have an extra to switch to. I even take one with me on vacation. I've been using one for about 3 years. Tho only thing I dont like is they will start leaking at the seams. The next time they come on sale I'll buy some more.

I agree that the bunching up is annoying, but the overall relief I get from the Chillow makes it very worthwhile for me. I didn't like the feeling of either side's material on my face, so one thing I think I do differently than others is that I keep the chillow under my regular pillow (which is memory foam), and thus it keeps one side of my foam pillow cool at all times. So, I just flip my foam pillow over when I need to feel a nice coolness on my face. I'm suffering from mega-hot-flashes due to post-cancer anti-estrogen therapy, so I'm very thankful for the relief this device provides.

The only good thing I can say about the pillow is that I bought it on sale and, thus, did not have to pay full price for it. If it stayed cool, it would be a great pillow, but the coolness does not last 30 minutes. Putting it into the fridge helped a little, but still the coolness did not last very long. It is also very messy when rolling the air out of it. I bought it to help with night sweats, but my money would have been better spent on bags of ice.
