It slides all over the place & I did put a pillowcase over it & on top of my pillow....to no avail. I don't like sleeping on vinyl either. By morning, it was all "bunched up" terrably. I followed instructions for bunching & it still stayed bunched up. I redid it again & again..to no avail. No matter what I do, the stuff in it stays bunched. It may not be a "perfect" product, but I can say that I use it every night, and it has helped me tremendously. In my opinion it was well worth the money. I find that works better for me than in the pillow case. Comments about Chillow Comfort Device, 1 ea: For use with dogs, it's great. In the summer, my dogs love lying on these. (For dogs that chew...don't give them one as they will not only destroy it, but will get water everywhere. It's also probably dangerous). Anyway, for me I found the Chillow big, bulky, and uncomfortable. For me, a much smaller one I could lay on my neck or stomach or back during a hotflash would make more sense. It IS very cool and does cool me down, but is not comfortable to lay on. I tried just using it during a flash, but it was too heavy to use that way. Another point - when you have hot flashes, they come and go. For a time, you're normal, then you're on fire, then you're chilled, so you don't really want or need something cold 100% of the time. To me, it makes more sense to have something of this exact material, just small and portable. Keep it handy, have a flash, lay it on your neck, get chilly, lay it back down, and so on. Maybe they will make something like that, and then this one to please everyone. Comments about Chillow Comfort Device, 1 ea: It was cool, but it was hard, heavy, and very uncomfortable to lay on. It did not want to stay in place and would get twisted up in the pillow case. I had mine less than three months when it sprung a leak and soaked my bed! I do put it in the refrigerator to get it even colder. All women with hot flashes at night, this is a life-saver.I had looked all over for a spare one and couldn't find on until I got on the web site. I ordered two, one for my sister and one for me.
