I got this to help with night sweats. I put it under my pillowcase. It is very cold to start with, but by the middle of the night it is actually hot because it takes on the heat of your body. So it is only good for temporary relief.

I bought one of these when drugstore.com first started carrying them. I was so excited because I love going to sleep on a cold pillow. What a major disappointment! It's extremely heavy and HARD. I can't sleep on a cold rock - I would rather have a pillow that feels like a pillow. If I wanted something cold and hard, I could just put one of those freezer ice-packs under my pillow case. Thanks for nothing. Nice idea - bad product.

Starts out nice and cool, but very soon it is warmed up and I have to remove it from the pillow to let it cool down again. I expected something that would stay cool all night.

I've been miserable with night sweats for the last couple of years, and ordered one of these to try with no real hope of relief. Was I wrong! This is the best thing I have found yet. It really helps keep the sweats at bay, and I liked it so much that I ordered another one to keep at my vacation cabin. Whenever I travel, it comes with me. I can't rave enough about the Chillow. I'm ordering two more for my sisters - I know theyll love it as much as I do!

The concept gets 5 stars, the execution gets 1 star. The Chillow works great helping me get to sleep. The problem is that I am now on my third Chillow since the first two leaked (not a pleasant thing to wake up to if the leak happens overnight). If they could figure out a way to get it to stop leaking, I would give it 5 stars.

I love my Chillow. I used a little less water than called for and had a perfectly squishy (kind of like memory foam) experience. Mine kept me cool throughout a heat wave, and worked great for migraines. I bought mine from the Discovery Channel store, and I used it daily last summer and never had a problem with leakage.

So what if this thing may sometimes only last a couple months, it's worth buying again and again. Mine lasts from 3 to 8 months, but I wouldn't care if it only lasted one - I'd STILL buy it. I've told many people about this product; some have told me they slept through the night for the first time in years with the Chillow. I can no longer be comfortable without it. I don't put it in the pillow case for maximum coolness. It's a godsend.

My wife bought this for me for Christmas. Although it was heavy, it did provide a nice cool pillow. It was kind of hard (expected with 10 cups of water in a bag) and I found myself pushing my head into it in order to make a comfy divot. It got quite a few wrinkles and then a seam leaked eight weeks later. If the manufacturer could get the leak issue fixed, I would give the product a 4. This was quite a unique item, but not the best purchase we've made.

Whoever does not appreciate this thing obviously does not know what it is like to wake up in the middle of a cold January night feeling like their body is solely responsible for global warming. Hint: Keep it UNDERNEATH your pillow and pull it out in the middle of the night when you need it most.

I bought this for my 10 year old, who gets hot while trying to sleep and also suffers from depression. We held out great hopes for this helping her. The Chillow is so hard. She took it out of her pillow after a couple nights. Now it's just hanging around and I feel like I wasted a lot of money.
