My wife bought this for me for Christmas. Although it was heavy, it did provide a nice cool pillow. It was kind of hard (expected with 10 cups of water in a bag) and I found myself pushing my head into it in order to make a comfy divot. It got quite a few wrinkles and then a seam leaked eight weeks later. If the manufacturer could get the leak issue fixed, I would give the product a 4. This was quite a unique item, but not the best purchase we've made.

Whoever does not appreciate this thing obviously does not know what it is like to wake up in the middle of a cold January night feeling like their body is solely responsible for global warming. Hint: Keep it UNDERNEATH your pillow and pull it out in the middle of the night when you need it most.

I bought this for my 10 year old, who gets hot while trying to sleep and also suffers from depression. We held out great hopes for this helping her. The Chillow is so hard. She took it out of her pillow after a couple nights. Now it's just hanging around and I feel like I wasted a lot of money.

The Chillow leaked through a tiny hole in the seam after only three days of use. We followed the instructions perfectly so we believe it to be a manufacturing defect. We're very disappointed in Chillow. It is a substandard product that does not live up to the product claims and hype. Wonderful idea, extremely poor quality execution.

I hate the Chillow. Although it stays cool, it does not stay put! Ten cups of water must be added to the thing to make it work, making it heavy. The device is then slipped between the pillow and pillowcase. The Chillow is so heavy and slippery that it slides around inside of the pillowcase causing extreme discomfort, lack of sleep and pains in the neck and shoulders that last the entire next day and beyond. I've tried it a few times with different pillows and I'm miserable each time. So disappointing.

I would recommend this product for people that have trouble sleeping through hot summer nights and don't mind having an un-fluffy pillow. It is true that the Chillow isn't lightweight and will crush down your pillow (especially if it is a feather down pillow). The only problem seems to be springing a leak, which mine did after about a month of daily use. But I also put it in the freezer, which the manufacturer doesn't recommend. Duct tape seems to fix the leak just fine.

It would have made a great product, but I found water leaking from a small hole at the corner of the pillow after using it just once. I am not sure if the hole was already there when I bought it, or if I caused it in the process of filling it up with water. It should have been made more durable to sustain a higher degree of pressure.

It's a great idea, and it works well for my husband who's diabled; however, I had to buy two to keep switching them for him when one gets hot. I bought one for myself, which leaked. I've put duct tape on it, and so far it's holding. The product definitely needs improvement.

Product works. Unfortunately, the BIGGEST problem (and I should know, this is my FIFTH Chillow) is horrible seam construction. Within 6-8 months (or sooner) of use, you're bound to bust a leak. You'll first notice it by a hint of moisture when washing pillow cases and letting this sucker slide out. That said, the product WORKS great as far as cooling your head on a hot evening. But until the manufacturers get their act together put HEAVY-DUTY, NON-LEAK seams, this is not a LONG-TERM, durable product lasting years. It seems to have a life of at least 8 months of continuous use before you end up buying another.
