But my doctor put me on this, one tablet, twice a day, and within a few days - honestly, a FEW DAYS - I was almost a normal girl again. Twenty-five years of suffering, and now I have my little orange pills. Ask your doc - sooooooooooooo worth it. I didn't order this product. It came because Citracel powder was unavailable. At first I thought "great I'll take a pill instead of using the powder". Then I checked the website and found out you only get 1 gram of fiber in 2 caplets. One gram! You'd have to take the pills all day long to get any result. What a rip off! The package doesn't say how many grams of fiber are in it. It was buried deep in the website. Waste of money.

How do Citrucel with SmartFiber caplets compare to the powder in their fiber content? Each two-caplet dose of Citrucel with SmartFiber caplets contains one gram of methylcellulose. This compares to two grams of Citrucel with SmartFiber in each one-scoop dose. In other words, you will need to take four caplets to get the same amount of fiber that is in one scoop Citrucel with SmartFiber powder. Four caplets can be taken at the same time. We recommend that you drink 8 oz. of liquid with each dose of 2-4 caplets.

I have crohn's disease and this really helps provide bulk and slow down my gut action. I am so pleased it now comes in caplet form as the added citric acid in the powder was a problem for me.

I have had IBS for 15 years and have tried all sorts of diets and of course fiber is the number one recommended supplement to help with regularity. I have tried many other forms of fiber, but Citrucel works best and does not cause gas or bloating. I take it two to three times a day, and when traveling it really helps keep everything regular (even for my husband who does not have stomach issues).
Take this product (child or adult) dose with at least 8 ounces (a full glass) of water or other fluid. Taking the product without enough liquid may cause choking. See choking water
Adults and Children 12 years of age and over: Start with 2 caplets. Increase as needed up to 6 times per day. Do not exceed 12 caplets per day. Children 6-11 years of age: Start with 1 caplet. Increase as needed up to 6 times per day. Do not exceed 6 caplets per day. Children under 6 years: consult a physician.
Other Information: Each caplet contains: Calcium 10 mg.
