It definitely works. You want to lighten your hair from dark brown to blonde? It can do. Don't wash out too soon otherwise you'll have strawberry blonde hair. Have patience and you'll get there.

I found I had to use the violet shampoo to remove the brassiness, but between the two I definitely have nice blonde hair. I am going to try the Ultra Blue next to see if the need for the violet shampoo is avoided.

As other reviewers have said, try not to dye again previously dyed hair... it will definitely be worse the wear after another time or two.

I've been to salons where my hair was worse off than using this stuff - now that's a waste. However, I have also been to salons (using Aveda products) where my hair was blonde and absolutely silky gorgeous forever - but I can't afford $140 every six weeks to do it.

I've tried many different boxes of product to lighten my hair. Most can do a shade or two, but I was looking for seriously blond hair - and I found it here.

I used this product in my brown/red hair, and I now have BRIGHT ORANGE strips mid way down my hair and I look like a clown! I cannot fix this until tomorrow and I have to buy the special "Oops color" remover to fix this. I'll NEVER use this product again. I have successfully dyed my hair several times and I was expecting blonde and got brown, red, orange, and blonde (Only on roots so just imagine how ridiculous that looks). So if you're planning on joining the circus tomorrow this is the dye for you!

I bought this when I had the whim to go from undyed, medium/light brown hair to white blonde and my preferred bleach was unavailable (the store that carries it was closed) My hair takes to bleach VERY easily, even when dyed- from brown to white in under 60 minutes.I applied the bleach on dry, two-day-dirty hair. I applied from the ends up to the roots as suggested in the packaging, massaging it around to make sure it was applied evenly. I left the bleach in for a full 90 minutes, if not more for lack of accurate starting time. I wrapped with a plastic bag and occasionally blasting darker spots with a hair dryer.Well, the hair dryer made my hair banana peel coloured. The rest of my hair is either bright pink (?) or yellow-orange. The main back underside of my hair is still brown. My roots are also brown.I will definitely never use this product again, especially for [$]. I have the simplest hair to bleach and it absolutely failed.On the plus side, my hair isn't ruined. The conditioner worked very well to keep my hair soft.

If you want a really light blonde, this is your color! I love to have the white/golden blonde look and this is the best brand I've used that DOESN'T damage my hair. I will use this as long as they make it.

this particular box I would swear was a left over relic from the '80ies -maybe even the '70ies! None of the items were as today's products Clairol furnishes. It was NOT so easily assembled or applied. This box with its supplies must have been in storage for ages -lost & forgotten hidden on the shelf or back corner. I resent the fact that I got stuck with it! The new product lines that Clairol offers I've never been disappointed with. I've always used Clairol, so recognized what appears to me as an old product trying to get rid of?!

This product will LIFT the color out of your hair. It is not an all in one. Your hair will need a seperate toner if you want a normal color that is not either conary yellow or copper orange! I would NEVER EVER use this product. I have been coloring my hair for years with Excellent results until I tried this product. This product is GROSSLY miisrepresent

Stuff is okay, if you just want to lift the color you have already out. But won't make you a blonde-blonde.

I have used this product numerous times and I always ended up with strawberry blonde hair (reddish-blonde shade). Most people liked it, but I hate red hair on me! LOL!

I had to leave it in for over 90 minutes. And still had some red to it. I don't suggest this for dark or black haircolors, like it says! I think it works better on light brown hair.

Is somewhat messy.

i dye my hair alot. too much, actually. and yet, i've never been blonde. i tried bleaching my hair before, using other products, and it never went blonde. bright pumpkin orange! after following the instructions perfectly. i got some highlights at a salon, and they weren't enough. i waited awhile, and still wanted to be blonder. i went to [...], and got this, being the only bleaching product i haven't tried. it worked amazing. it bleached my hair through the orange stage, and to the yellow stage. (which is where you have to be to tone it). it's damaging, of course. it's bleach, there's not a bleach product out there that isn't damaging. but, my hair isn't straw, or falling out or breaking either. it's just a little dry is all. and that's nothing a few moisture treatments can't fix. my hair was a light brown with blonde highlights. i left it on for a total of probably around 40 minutes. it was very easy to use and mix. the scent was so strong though, it made my eyes water. but they got used to it. my hair is extremely short, so that's most likely why it came out so nice and even. i'm in awe though, i have blue parts in my hair, AND black streaks too, and it pulled that out! i wouldn't use this if you have really thick/long or dark hair. over all, this product worked amazing for me. i recomend it. but not to everyone, only people with short, or thin hair. and not too dark either. medium brown is the darkest i would go.

i've used this product several times. DO NOT use on red hair .. i dyed my hair Aubern and i used 7 boxes of this and it still came out bright clown orange.. i eventually just dyed my hair dark brown because i was sick of dying it so much and after about 4 1/2 months i tried this again since my hair was a medium brown by then and 1 box and my hair was a blondish orange second box and my hair is now blonde but with a yellow tint .. i had medium blonde hair once and used this and it came out the same blonde with a yellow tint .. i dont think it ever gets the same color as on the box unless your hair is already light light blonde .. then maybe! ALSO it's pretty harsh and dries out your hair, doesn't leave it soft at all just dry with split ends and the smell is terrable just .. really bad! and it's hard to breath when your trying to dye your hair in an open room with windows open and everything! i even had fans going facing the windows to help get the smell out! the only reason my hair isn't falling out right now because i use different hair repair creams and conditioners after every use.. so all in all yeah i'll use it again just not often! oh also if your hair is black it'll take about 3-4 boxes to get light blonde
