I had heard that on some people it turned black so as a precaution I mixed it with a second box of dark golden brown but it was either neutralized by the dark brown or failed to take to my hair at all because I saw absolutely no hint of it once I finished. On top of that, my hair became so incredibly dry that it started FALLING OUT IN CLUMPS while washing out the excess dye. Usually when trying new products I'm not upset when they fail to deliver on their promises but I covered my entire head in two boxes worth of this trash and then proceeded to literally watch as [$] worth of dye and a LARGE CLUMP OF HAIR washed down the drain. I had to use an alternative product when I ran out and the Perfect 10 was unavailable locally. I was very disappointed. I had to leave the stuff in for 25 minutes, and it came with this pencil-point sized applicator. This product is easy to use and fast; additionally, it makes my hair soft, shiny, and wavy.

My hair stylist agrees. I have to color every 18 days to cover my white roots and it doesn't build up and look darker if I keep it to the root zone.

I am fastidious about roots showing so I probably use this more frequently that others. It's my choice to look good all the time!

I purchased dark brown (my natural color is dark brown with some greys) and after following the instructions to a T, my hair is now BLUE-BLACK :( I will NOT purchase another Clairol product.

My husband called me Elvira and laughed. Apparently, I'm not alone after reading a lot of reviews on various web sites. I've read the color will lighten after a few washes. I really hope so since I don't want black hair.
