Comments about Clairol Nice'n Easy Hairpainting, Blonde Highlights, 1 ea:

I used this highlight on my 13 year old daughter who has medium blonde thick long hair. As she gets older she is getting darker. I myself get foiled every 5 weeks to to my darker color. So with that ...I was scarred to do this my self, but I am a perfectionist and kind of feel I can master this. Considering I watch my stylist do this to me. I did read other reviews carefully and listen one who made this stick in my head as we prepped. not to go too much because it is there!!! I divided the kit in half!
And before we started I weaved like my stylish does ....thin thin pieces and clipped them ahead with bobby pins all along the top of her head to see what I was going at.
I knew I didn't want to play with this as a went along...possibly keeping the beginning on too long and getting white color. I also used tiny squares of foil to wrap each piece...so not to have it touch and bleed to non colored hair!
Well....it came out so natural and I strongly suggest go little at first like we did!
I am a critic and I have to say we did Good!
And we just came back from Florida and this made her hair look even more natural after being in the real sun.
I do not suggest using this alone..unless you are just using it in the front of you head only.

Comments about Clairol Nice'n Easy Hairpainting, Blonde Highlights, 1 ea:

I am a drop-out from getting professional highlights because in NYC, with tip highlights cost over $100 (at the cheapest places). I have been using this kit for a few years now to save money and prefer it to the L'Oreal one which seems harsher and has that crochet hook rigmarole to deal with.If you haven't used a kit like this before, my advice is "Don't get your money's worth with your first attempt!" The cost of this kit is relatively low so use less than you think you need and see how it goes. If you need more, use another kit later on and add on where you need more highlights. That way you won't run the risk of having the brassy globs that one of the reviewers mentioned. For [$], you will get the highlights you really want. That seems like [$] well spent. (I am sure you could divide the kit in half and just use half at a time, but I am nervous I will get the proportions wrong.)

I tried this product to get a few highlights but ended up with huge clumps along my hair parting. It's way too easy to get heavy handed, especially in the back where you can't see what you're doing. Definiely use a partner in this highlighting. Now I have to part my hair a differnet way to cover up the brassy blond sections.

Comments about Clairol Nice'n Easy Hairpainting, Blonde Highlights, 1 ea:

This is a 5-star product for anyone wanting to spruce up their hair with highlights. I didn't know it was still available until recently I came across it at Drug Store & added it to my order. I hate to admit that I was convinced by my ex-hairdresser into spending [$]to highlight my hair one time. I felt lucky when I found this kit. I just used the kit yesterday and as instructed, I was very careful to do tiny bits of strands of hair so I wouldn't get the globs of color look. I also mimicked what hairdressers do if you are highlighting mulitple layers throughout, do a wavy, not straight part with a plastic comb. It gives a natural weave look. Another tip not offered in their instructions, is try estimating mixing only half the solution to use. You can always touch up anything later that needs it. If it is you first time to highlight yourself, I would try just framing the face (remember, tiny bits of strands look natural) & the ends. If your hair is layered, it looks great & natural with all the ends highlighted. You don't need to cover all the ends. You do need to cover the whole length of the strands for the rest of the hair like for framing the face. Next time I highlight, I won't put as much on my bang area as I overdid it a little. Otherwise, not a bad job for being 30 yrs. since I had one of these kits!
