Chemical Name: DESLORATADINE (des-lor-AT-a-deen)
Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet is an antihistamine used to treat the symptoms of hay fever and other allergic conditions such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes, and sneezing. It is also used to relieve itching and rash due to chronic hives. Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking amiodarone, azithromycin, cimetidine, erythromycin, fluoxetine, ketoconazole, or other antihistamines (eg, diphenhydramine). DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, including kidney problems, liver problems, phenylketonuria (PKU), allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Follow the directions for using Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet provided by your doctor. An additional patient information leaflet is available with Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this information. Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet may be taken on an empty stomach or with food. DO NOT REMOVE the blister from the outer pouch until you are ready to take Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet. Make sure that your hands are dry when you open the blister pack. Do not push the tablet through the foil. Peel back the foil to remove the tablet from its foil pack and place the tablet immediately on the tongue. It will dissolve quickly. You may take Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet with or without water. DO NOT STORE the removed tablet for future use. STORE CLARINEX REDITABS 30 5mg DISPERSIBLE TABLET at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) away from heat, light, and moisture. Brief storage between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. Do not store in the bathroom. KEEP CLARINEX REDITABS 30 5mg DISPERSIBLE TABLET out of the reach of children and away from pets. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF CLARINEX REDITABS 30 5mg DISPERSIBLE TABLET and you are taking it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
DO NOT TAKE CLARINEX REDITABS 30 5mg DISPERSIBLE TABLET if you have had an allergic reaction to it or to loratadine, or are allergic to any ingredient in this product. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR DOSE, exceed the recommended dose, or take Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet more often than prescribed without checking with your doctor. Drowsiness may occur if you take more of Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet than prescribed. KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are taking Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet. Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet may interfere with skin allergy tests. IF YOU ARE SCHEDULED FOR A SKIN TEST, talk to your doctor. You may need to stop taking Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet for a few days before the tests. CLARINEX REDITABS 30 5mg DISPERSIBLE TABLET MAY CAUSE DIZZINESS OR DROWSINESS. DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS until you know how you react to Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet. Using Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol, may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet contains aspartame and phenylalanine. If you have phenylketonuria (PKU) or any other condition where you must restrict your intake of aspartame or phenylalanine, consult your doctor or pharmacist regarding the safe use of Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes cough-and-cold products that may contain other antihistamines. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet during pregnancy. CLARINEX REDITABS 30 5mg DISPERSIBLE TABLET IS EXCRETED IN BREAST MILK. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet.
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking Clarinex Reditabs 30 5mg Dispersible Tablet include dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, menstrual pain, muscle pain, nausea, sore throat, tiredness, or upset stomach. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience dark urine, fast or irregular heartbeat, pale stools, seizures, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. AN ALLERGIC REACTION TO CLARINEX REDITABS 30 5mg DISPERSIBLE TABLET IS UNLIKELY, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, throat, or tongue. If your symptoms do not improve or if they become worse, contact your doctor. DO NOT SHARE CLARINEX REDITABS 30 5mg DISPERSIBLE TABLET with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE CLARINEX REDITABS 30 5mg DISPERSIBLE TABLET for other health conditions.
