Years ago, a similar product was made by a natural skin care company, but was "powder paper" that deposited powder, instead of just absorbing oil. Therefore, it gave a "dusty" appearance over make-up. There is also a drugstore brand product which is just rice paper, and doesn't absorb enough, or show you how much oil has been absorbed and where. The sheets are also too big to fit in a tiny carry-along make-up case. The BEST of these products is Clean & Clear by FAR. They absorb facial oil without disturbing make-up or depositing anything on the skin. They also don't dry out your face-- only surface oil is affected. They also show you where the most oil has been absorbed by turning darker blue with the oil, so that you can turn the sheet around to a "fresh" area and thus maximize effectiveness. The sheets are also silky soft and comfortable to use, unlike the crackly papery nature of the products described above. My only complaint is that the sticky pad that helps the sheets pop up tends to stop being sticky after awhile. Just needs a tad stronger glue. I hope they NEVER discontinue this product, as so many women I know swear by it. I also noticed that my skin looked extra dry after using them... even though I had powder on and the product claims not to disturb makeup. I'm not sure that claim is completely accurate. My mother used them and also said she did not like the way her skin looked afterwards, although the oil was removed. My other complaint is that they bright blue color makes them too indiscreet for quick use in a public place. I will continue looking for a better product. Before I found these oil absorbing pads, I was constantly feeling I needed to put powder on those spots, to hide the shine. These pads instantly blot up the excess oil, leaving my skin with a great matte finish--no more shiny nose or forehead! Was this review helpful? I have used as many as four sheets at a time in an attempt to absorb the oil on my face. The sheets are no more effectvie than Kleenex, which is what I normally use. So, if you have really oily skin, don't bother. A box of Kleenex is way cheaper, so I won't be purchasing the oil aborbing sheets again. I have never stopped buying this and I always have this around. Soaks up excess oil in face, which can cause the greasy look and breakouts. Best Uses Comments about Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets, 50 ea: These are fantastic, and while I keep trying other brands, I keep coming back. I use a primer usually under my makeup (more and more often now as I am getting older ;p ), and use these through out the day to help with oil. The have a weird texture that turned me off and first, as I was expecting paper, but there is no denying the oil it pulls off ur face, cause you can completely see it on the sheet, as the shine from your face disappears. They dont mess up make up, even eye make up, and in fact help it to last longer. But more important, getting that gunk off my face helps my pores to stay smaller through the day, and my skin remain clearer over all. I have to say, they are the best blotting papers ever used. Rarely have to reapply power in day now and just use these instead.Carry one in my purse, and have a couple at house too, so I dont have to be without ever again. It removes that oily look while leaving make-up in its place. I hate feeling oily, and to carry around face wash would be a bit much.
