Years ago, a similar product was made by a natural skin care company, but was "powder paper" that deposited powder, instead of just absorbing oil. Therefore, it gave a "dusty" appearance over make-up. There is also a drugstore brand product which is just rice paper, and doesn't absorb enough, or show you how much oil has been absorbed and where. The sheets are also too big to fit in a tiny carry-along make-up case. The BEST of these products is Clean & Clear by FAR. They absorb facial oil without disturbing make-up or depositing anything on the skin. They also don't dry out your face-- only surface oil is affected. They also show you where the most oil has been absorbed by turning darker blue with the oil, so that you can turn the sheet around to a "fresh" area and thus maximize effectiveness. The sheets are also silky soft and comfortable to use, unlike the crackly papery nature of the products described above. My only complaint is that the sticky pad that helps the sheets pop up tends to stop being sticky after awhile. Just needs a tad stronger glue. I hope they NEVER discontinue this product, as so many women I know swear by it. I also noticed that my skin looked extra dry after using them... even though I had powder on and the product claims not to disturb makeup. I'm not sure that claim is completely accurate. My mother used them and also said she did not like the way her skin looked afterwards, although the oil was removed. My other complaint is that they bright blue color makes them too indiscreet for quick use in a public place. I will continue looking for a better product. I don't like to powder my face during the day so this is perfect for me to blot away the oil and keeps my makeup looking fresh. I can't live without this! By the end of the day my eyelids and t-zone get oily and these very effectively absorb the excess oil without ruining my eye make-up. I have tried different blotting sheets but they always tear and never really absorb the oil. Someone gave me Lancome sheets (which I absolutely love but can't afford!) and these are very similar. You just put them over the area, press a little bit and all the oil is gone. They are absorbent and if you only use portions of the sheet at a time, you can keep reusing them. Great product. I keep these in my purse and use them frequently - especially in the warmer summer months when my skin is naturally more oily. Even with a "mattifying" lotion and "oil-absorbing" powder, my skin still produces a shiny oil that these sheets easily remove without disturbing makeup. You can see the oil being absorbed and it's kind of cool. Also, these are much less expensive than many other brands I've seen at Sephora but get the same job done. I used this product about 4 times one week, and I experienced a terrible breakout. It looked like a rash of tiny whiteheads (clogged every pore), and it left my skin tender and inflamed. Look at the ingredients (yes, there are ingredients, it's not just paper). The blotters contain mineral oil and other unnatural ingredients. It has taken me a long time to clear my skin from this experience. Spare yourself the grief, don't use these.

As other reviewers have commented, I see no difference in quality or effectiveness between the generic vs. the name brand sheets.

They don't disturb the rest of your makeup and help maintain a matte look, and also help keep your skin clear by removing pore-clogging oil. The packaging is nothing special but for the price...eh, it's fine.

Comments about Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets, 50 ea: I have this with me everywhere I go. It takes ALL the excess oil off my face and keeps my face shine/greasy free! I love it! I have been using this for 10years! I have tried different brands, still having a pack or 2 of these with me, just in case. What I found out was that the other brands just didn't compare to this. I also had my ex bf use this, he was hooked and still uses it to this day. What else? His guy friends started using these as well! Yup! It really works!
