I purchased this product thinking I would be getting the non medicated Clearasil that I always get. Instead though I received the "New Formula", which now has salicylic acid as well as added moisturizer. It's almost like the Clearasil ultra, just cheaper and with a much nicer smell.

Although I'm not too happy that I didn't get the exact product shown on here (the non medicated cleanser), I'm glad that at least the product seems to work just as well as before. And the smell is still exactly the same (not gross like the ultra Clearasil).

Before with the non medicated cleanser I would use the salicylic acid pads on my face after washing. Now I guess I'll be able to save time and skip that part. Also with this product I will use an apricot scrub. Then once my face is completely dry I put on medicated acne cream, usually benzoyl peroxide.

For those who receive the original, non medicated formula, one thing you should know is it's not made to get rid of acne. It cleanses the skin of dirt and oil. If you want to get rid of acne, I highly suggest that you put on medicated acne creams, gels or whatever else to your skin after you clean it. Even with the medicated cleanser, a lot of the times you need something extra to help fight acne.

This product didn't work for me. I've been using Proactiv for years but I wasn't fully satisfied and I wanted to try something different so I bought this. Since using Proactiv I have generally had pretty consistent mild breakouts around my mouth/chin but nowhere else. After I started using this product I started breaking out on my cheeks and forehead which hasn't happened for years. I decided to stick with it because the website said something about results in 4 weeks but after 2 1/2 weeks it wasn't getting any better and I wasn't feeling optimistic so I gave up and bought something else. This product also made my skin feel dry and itchy.

I have always had problems with acne and this product has really helped make my pimples disappear. I found an older bottle of this in my bathroom that my husband used to use and loved it so much that I had to find it again. The new formula has made my skin even better and smells great.

I wasn't sure if I would like this cleanser because my skin is sensitive and breaks out easily, and so I normally prefer to buy cleansers designed for sensitive skin. I was surprised after a day or two of using it that it wasn't drying out my skin or making my breakouts worse. It removes all of my makeup and even leaves my skin feeling slightly tingly. The smell is okay, certainly not bad. Unless something better comes along I will keep buying this.

Thought that when I reached my 40's and 50's my face would stop with the occasional breakouts. When i was still getting them I returned to my high school favorite, Clearasil. Still is fantastic after all these years. I wash in the morning and before bed and am finally feeling blemish free!!

The Clearasil Face Wash ingredients have changed and it doesn't work nearly as well as the old version for me anyway! DrugStore.com needs to change their picture as well as the list of ingredients!!! The new product is called Clearasil Deep Cleanse Daily Face Wash. Don't know why Clearasil would change such a good product that has been around for decades!

I used this product once when i was a teenager with horrible acne and it dried out my skin in patches and did nothing to help my acne. Now I'm 30 so I decided to try it again since my acne has considerably dissipated. I thought it might work. not so. It leaves my skin oily and it feels as though a film is left behind. I also tried this in the shower on my back with the same result. Conclusion : from my experperiences and reading over these reviews this product is obviously NOT for oily skin or acne prone skin despite the clearasil name. So if your skin falls into these categories and you're looking for a deep cleanser save yourself the trouble and try either the oxy face wash/mask or the foaming cleanser by Alpha Hydroxy. (or both! :) too bad this product didn't come with a disclaimer as I'm sure the manufacturer knows this already.

I have used this product for many years. It is part of my daily routine. I am in my low 30's and have had acne since middle school. This product keep my skin in check and NEVER drys it out. I do not use it on my forhead, since that is prone to being very dry - but the rest of my face would not be clear without it. I use an oil free daily moisture for combo skin with SPF and my skin stays clear most of the time. I have found that it only work OK for black heads - usually I need a scrub for those when they pop up. But for moderate to severe acne with inflamation or sever white heads - it's a life saver. Use 2x a day and on a wash cloth once to exfoliate and/or remove makeup. Try it, you'll like it and it's a great value!

This face wash is good for me for taking off most of my make up at the end of the day. However it doesn't seem to get all of it and I still have white heads and break outs. Guess I'll have to try something different! But doesn't mean it might not work for someone else and another skin type. My skin is combination to more oily so it might not be bad for someone with sensitive skin.
