This was the best thing I every purchased in my life. I am a rather impatient person and like to be in control of certain things in my life (yes, Type A personality). Anyhow, I was 34 when me and my husband started trying to conceive beginning in June 2009 during our 1st year wedding anniversary in the Caribbean. Anyhow, I thought I knew my body like clockwork and that I ovulated on the 14th day of my cycle. WRONG. We tried in June and July during the 5 days before and up to what I thought was when I was ovulating (even planned our anniversary trip around those days). When we did not get pregnant during those 2 months I started freaking out. He's 41 and I was 34 so I thought we were screwed. Then something told me to look into getting a fertility monitor so I purchased this one. I was so annoyed when I opened the box to see that I had to start between the 1st and 5th day of my cycle. By the time I purchased the darn thing I was already on day 7. Being the impatient person that I am (I could not wait until the next month to start using it --- sorry), I just pretended I was on day 5 of my cycle and started using the darn thing. I figured I'd know I was 2 days off and the monitor would catch up on the next go around if we did not succeed during the first time. During the first 16 days of my cycle (according to the monitor) I was at "low" fertility. I started freaking out since, like I stated previously, I thought day 14 was my peak. Then, I got 2 high fertility days on days 17 and 18, followed by 2 peak days on days 19 and 20, respectively. Hence, I ovulated on day 20, which blew my mind. That was also my 35 birthday, which was sort of funny. Me and my husband made sure to have intercourse on virtually all of the high and peak days (especially my birthday of course), although we did skip one day because we both were dead tired from a late night workout. Anyhow, my cycle was 28 days as usual and I did not get my period on the 28th day. So I took one of those First Response (early results) test the day after my period was due (DON'T buy this First Response test BTW, it sucks) and it gave me only one solid line a really faint second line - so faint I really did not notice until I tilted the stupid test but it was so faint I just threw it out and thought I was not pregnant and was really annoyed. I was really crampy so I was certain my period was just late and it was coming any day. But when my period still did not come almost 10 days later I took other tests and they confirmed I was pregnant!!! I am currently 6 weeks. Me and hubby are going our prenatal checkup in a couple of days to hopefully hear the heart beat and do genetic testing. Very very excited. This product worked like a charm. Worth EVERY penny! P.S. -- I'm still very crampy and very very bloated but it's worth it.

This product is fine and certainly helpful. I'm a mother to a one-year old and trying to conceive again. My hormones are still a bit out of whack, and so the CBFM is helpful in trying to pinpoint my new post-first baby cycle.

I conceived my first child without the use of fertility monitors or testing (I was lucky; just tried based on an ovulation calculator and cervical mucus and was pregnant on the third try).

I'm in my second month of using the monitor and I get the sense that the monitor is still trying to "figure out" my cycle. The first go, I had several highs, followed by two peaks (days 16 & 17), followed by a few lows. This month, I've had 13 highs, but based on "other" monitoring, I ovulated sometime around days 14 - 16.

It'll be interesting to see what month three generates . . . though I can't help but wonder if my tried-and-true cervical mucus charting works better for me. I also wonder if I have a hard-to-detect or short LH surge. Time will tell!

Overall - so far and for me - the product is interesting and hopefully more accurate as it collects more "data" so to speak. I envy the folks for whom it works like a charm!

One of the reasons I wrote this review was I was compelled to comment to a reviewer to boldly stated to another reviewer " Did you ever think maybe its YOU who is not ovulating?" Reviewer: Once someone decides to try to become pregnant, that person wants to become pregnant NOW. Waiting and wondering is not easy whether it's one month or 7 years. And understandably, people feel frustration (myself included) when any ounce of potential hope for information (e.g., the CBFM results) doesn't seem to work the way she hoped it would. Be kind to one another during this process. Focus on your independent experience and offer it here as something that might help others. It pains me to see someone/some people use this forum to attack or criticize others who have only expressed their individual experience and frustration.

Based on what I've read, it works for some folks and not so much for others. Maybe it's technical (user-error, the independent machine), maybe it's hormonal (low lh, not ovulating)! Who knows, right?!

Happy trying to all. Thank you for your reviews; they've helped me as I try to navigate the TTC-World again!

My husband and I have been TTC for many years. I have had two miscarriages, two failed attempts at IUI and was at the point of giving up. I saw this fertility monitor on Drugstore.com and decided to give this a try since nothing else had worked. My fertility specialist told me to use progesterone suppositories in addition to using the monitor. Within two months I conceived, and my doctor recommended I use the progesterone suppositories for the first 13 weeks of my pregnancy. I am very pleased to say that my daughter is now 8 months old and is the joy of our lives. This product really works!

This is a genius monitoring device and everyone I told about it became pregnant within 2 months of use. It worked beautifully, and we also used it to try to select our baby's sex. I had heard that you are more likely to conceive a boy if you are most active on within 24 hours of your peak, whereas a girl is more likely a a day or two before peak. Something about female spurm (misspelled for censors) being slower but living longer, whereas the male spurm get their fast but die quickly. We tried for a boy and now have a son! Who knows if it helped with that, but worth a try if you have a preference. Recommend this kit to EVERYONE.

I loved this product! My husband and I have been trying for almost 3 years for our 2nd child and no success. My menstrual cycle is never accurate and can never pin point when I actually ovulate. I buy the Ovulation home test every month and still could not get pregnant. I then came across this product online and read the reviews and decided to give it a try. I am now 4 1/2 months pregnant. After using this product for 2 months, I conceived. I now recommend this product to family, friends and coworker.

Before using this product I tried Other ovulation predictors. This one far out performed all of them. It keeps up with the days of your cycle, you almost know the exact date you conceived. After using the machine for 3 months I finally tested it and, I'm pregnant! This certainly takes the guess work out of having a baby.

I have been trying for 7 years and even went through infertility treatments with no success.

I was going to go another round with infertility treatments but wasn't emotionally ready to go through that again so I decided to purchase this monitor. I had my eye on it before but it's pricey.

Fast forward to now. I am pregnant with my rainbow baby (the baby after the rain) and couldn't be more amazed. I used this monitor for ONE month and it worked!

I can't say it will work in 1 month for someone else, or if it will work for someone else at all, but for this gal who had a 1% chance of conceiving naturally with a low ovarian reserve - this monitor was absoulutely needed.

Comments about Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, 1 ea:

LH (luteinizing hormone) is the hormone that surges anywhere from 0-52 hours before you ovulate, but typically around 24 hours. LH tends to surge in the morning, but not be in large enough quantities in your urine to show up until the afternoon or evening. By the time you have a positive OPK (ovulation predictor kit); you may have already had a surge for quite a few hours. And if you only test once in the morning, you may have had your surge for an entire day already.

Your first morning urine is the most concentrated, but this isn't the urine where the LH is usually going to show up first if you tested throughout the day. Then, if you're like most women, you're busy drinking your water for the rest of the day and your urine can become quite diluted. But you must drink up because your cervical mucus needs you to be well hydrated.

Many women only have a positive OPK for a couple of hours. Other women (PCOS) have multiple days of positive OPK's. If you look at the charts at a BBT charting website, such as Fertility Friend, you will see that most of the time, if a woman is using both OPK's and the CBEFM (Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor), they've already had a positive OPK an entire day before CBEFM gives them a "PEAK" reading. See picture below. It's not a great picture, but I've attached it anyway.

You really need to have your mate's umm….contribution where it needs to be almost before you get your positive OPK, but at the very least, it needs to be there immediately after you get your positive OPK, and added to for the following couple of days as backup.

If you BD (baby dance) on every "HIGH" and "PEAK" day the CBEFM gives you, you may be alright. If you're only BDing on "PEAK" days, you may be too late.

I've used the CBEFM for a couple of years and it has regularly NOT given me a "PEAK" reading, even though ovulation was confirmed via ultrasound and I got positive OPK's.

Because I have a cache of test sticks, I've been experimenting with it lately. Next cycle I am going to set the monitor so that the six-hour window of testing time will be between 9am-3pm or so. I am home during the day so this isn't a problem for me, otherwise I couldn't do it. I can't imagine bringing this device with me to work, although we've done some funny things already trying to get pregnant!

Definitely use another ovulation test as a backup with this.

I ordered the monitor from drugstore.com and it arrived 4 days into my cycle the second month we tried to conceive. The directions say that you can advance the days in the monitor to the number of days into your cycle, up to the 5th day. So I did, and I started using the test sticks starting on day 6. I continued to see "low" readings until day 16, when I received a "high" reading. Then, the following two days I had "peak" readings. The monitor was used in combination with BBT readings. I think that the monitor is an easy way to get pregnant fast because the days went by and my period still had not shown up. I was shocked at how well it worked. The only thing is that the readings do take a little while to process, so I would find another personal hygiene routine step to do while waiting. I'm 6.5 weeks pregnant now, and very happy we're going to start our family.
