This was the best thing I every purchased in my life. I am a rather impatient person and like to be in control of certain things in my life (yes, Type A personality). Anyhow, I was 34 when me and my husband started trying to conceive beginning in June 2009 during our 1st year wedding anniversary in the Caribbean. Anyhow, I thought I knew my body like clockwork and that I ovulated on the 14th day of my cycle. WRONG. We tried in June and July during the 5 days before and up to what I thought was when I was ovulating (even planned our anniversary trip around those days). When we did not get pregnant during those 2 months I started freaking out. He's 41 and I was 34 so I thought we were screwed. Then something told me to look into getting a fertility monitor so I purchased this one. I was so annoyed when I opened the box to see that I had to start between the 1st and 5th day of my cycle. By the time I purchased the darn thing I was already on day 7. Being the impatient person that I am (I could not wait until the next month to start using it --- sorry), I just pretended I was on day 5 of my cycle and started using the darn thing. I figured I'd know I was 2 days off and the monitor would catch up on the next go around if we did not succeed during the first time. During the first 16 days of my cycle (according to the monitor) I was at "low" fertility. I started freaking out since, like I stated previously, I thought day 14 was my peak. Then, I got 2 high fertility days on days 17 and 18, followed by 2 peak days on days 19 and 20, respectively. Hence, I ovulated on day 20, which blew my mind. That was also my 35 birthday, which was sort of funny. Me and my husband made sure to have intercourse on virtually all of the high and peak days (especially my birthday of course), although we did skip one day because we both were dead tired from a late night workout. Anyhow, my cycle was 28 days as usual and I did not get my period on the 28th day. So I took one of those First Response (early results) test the day after my period was due (DON'T buy this First Response test BTW, it sucks) and it gave me only one solid line a really faint second line - so faint I really did not notice until I tilted the stupid test but it was so faint I just threw it out and thought I was not pregnant and was really annoyed. I was really crampy so I was certain my period was just late and it was coming any day. But when my period still did not come almost 10 days later I took other tests and they confirmed I was pregnant!!! I am currently 6 weeks. Me and hubby are going our prenatal checkup in a couple of days to hopefully hear the heart beat and do genetic testing. Very very excited. This product worked like a charm. Worth EVERY penny! P.S. -- I'm still very crampy and very very bloated but it's worth it.

This product is fine and certainly helpful. I'm a mother to a one-year old and trying to conceive again. My hormones are still a bit out of whack, and so the CBFM is helpful in trying to pinpoint my new post-first baby cycle.

I conceived my first child without the use of fertility monitors or testing (I was lucky; just tried based on an ovulation calculator and cervical mucus and was pregnant on the third try).

I'm in my second month of using the monitor and I get the sense that the monitor is still trying to "figure out" my cycle. The first go, I had several highs, followed by two peaks (days 16 & 17), followed by a few lows. This month, I've had 13 highs, but based on "other" monitoring, I ovulated sometime around days 14 - 16.

It'll be interesting to see what month three generates . . . though I can't help but wonder if my tried-and-true cervical mucus charting works better for me. I also wonder if I have a hard-to-detect or short LH surge. Time will tell!

Overall - so far and for me - the product is interesting and hopefully more accurate as it collects more "data" so to speak. I envy the folks for whom it works like a charm!

One of the reasons I wrote this review was I was compelled to comment to a reviewer to boldly stated to another reviewer " Did you ever think maybe its YOU who is not ovulating?" Reviewer: Once someone decides to try to become pregnant, that person wants to become pregnant NOW. Waiting and wondering is not easy whether it's one month or 7 years. And understandably, people feel frustration (myself included) when any ounce of potential hope for information (e.g., the CBFM results) doesn't seem to work the way she hoped it would. Be kind to one another during this process. Focus on your independent experience and offer it here as something that might help others. It pains me to see someone/some people use this forum to attack or criticize others who have only expressed their individual experience and frustration.

Based on what I've read, it works for some folks and not so much for others. Maybe it's technical (user-error, the independent machine), maybe it's hormonal (low lh, not ovulating)! Who knows, right?!

Happy trying to all. Thank you for your reviews; they've helped me as I try to navigate the TTC-World again!

I usually don't write reviews but I promised that if it works I would write. I got the monitor after trying to concieve on my own for 6 month. I am 33 and off the pill for 2 years. The first month was a bummer. It never showed that I ovulated. The whole time it showed low fertility and I was getting sad. So the next month I switched my method of testing and instead of directly peeing on the stick I gathered it in the cup and then tested it. Again for the first 15 days it showed low fertility and then to my surprise on 16th day it jumped from low to the picture of an egg, meaning ovulation. Long story short, I am 13 weeks pregnant! I just want to say- dont give up if you see low fertility every day. I know how depressing it is. Try switching methods of testing and also dont stress because stress hinders ovulation. Good luck to all of you out there and God Bless you!

I tried several fertility tracking methods - saliva tests, basal body temperature tracking, etc. - with no clear picture of my cycle. Finally, I bit the bullet and bought this monitor and test sticks. Within 2 cycles, I knew exactly what was happening and when. This system is easy to use, easy to read, and very helpful when discussing fertility difficulties with my doctor. Thanks to using this monitor, I now have a 14-month-old baby girl!

I will find out soon if I am pregnant. I know that it is working because it shows exactly when you are ovulating which is the same time that I get all the symptoms of ovulation. It just puts my mind at ease knowing that it's no longer guess work for me. Now I just have to wait.

I'm one of those people who never write reviews online, but felt compelled to write about this product. With my first child I got pregnant without much effort. I tracked my cycle on my own for a few months, could easily tell I was ovulating and got pregnant on the first try. But when it came time to try for a second baby, I could not get a handle on my cycle. I tried for a few months to keep track of what I thought were signs of ovulation, but was wrong every month. I was stressing myself out and spending way too much time worrying about my cycle so I decided to buy this monitor to ease the stress. I was skeptical because I got 11 days of low fertility, then high fertility for 10 straight days. I was convinced the monitor didn't work or I was never going to ovulate. Then to my surprise on Day 21 I hit peak fertility! Had intercourse that evening. Had peak fertility for one more day but wasn't able to have intercourse that day so I thought for sure I wouldn't conceive. But I did and now I'm 4 months pregnant! I'm sure there are some flaws with this monitor and it may not work for everyone, but for me it took away the guess work. I can definitely see how it may take a few months for it to learn your cycle, but stay with it! It may take time but it CAN work!

We had been hoping to conceive for almost a year but weren't really trying too hard. Once we got serious about it I bought this and it worked the first month we used it. Turns out I was ovulating much earlier than I thought. This was totally worth the money and so easy to use. Wish I had bought it months ago. You do have to start using it within I believe 5 days of starting your period, so if you are trying to conceive, don't wait, buy this now!

The second month I used it I got pregnant. I miscarried so used it again this year and the first month I was back to using it again I got pregnant. The sticks are expensive. People on the babycenter.com boards have their own tips for using less sticks but I'm a "rule follower" and followed the directions. Both months I ovulated late and nearly thought it would be an anovulatory cycle, but I indeed did ovulate :)
