I am a rather impatient person and like to be in control of certain things in my life (yes, Type A personality). Anyhow, I was 34 when me and my husband started trying to conceive beginning in June 2009 during our 1st year wedding anniversary in the Caribbean. Anyhow, I thought I knew my body like clockwork and that I ovulated on the 14th day of my cycle. WRONG. We tried in June and July during the 5 days before and up to what I thought was when I was ovulating (even planned our anniversary trip around those days). When we did not get pregnant during those 2 months I started freaking out. He's 41 and I was 34 so I thought we were screwed. Then something told me to look into getting a fertility monitor so I purchased this one. I was so annoyed when I opened the box to see that I had to start between the 1st and 5th day of my cycle. By the time I purchased the darn thing I was already on day 7. Being the impatient person that I am (I could not wait until the next month to start using it --- sorry), I just pretended I was on day 5 of my cycle and started using the darn thing. I figured I'd know I was 2 days off and the monitor would catch up on the next go around if we did not succeed during the first time. During the first 16 days of my cycle (according to the monitor) I was at "low" fertility. I started freaking out since, like I stated previously, I thought day 14 was my peak. Then, I got 2 high fertility days on days 17 and 18, followed by 2 peak days on days 19 and 20, respectively. Hence, I ovulated on day 20, which blew my mind. That was also my 35 birthday, which was sort of funny. Me and my husband made sure to have intercourse on virtually all of the high and peak days (especially my birthday of course), although we did skip one day because we both were dead tired from a late night workout. Anyhow, my cycle was 28 days as usual and I did not get my period on the 28th day. So I took one of those First Response (early results) test the day after my period was due (DON'T buy this First Response test BTW, it sucks) and it gave me only one solid line a really faint second line - so faint I really did not notice until I tilted the stupid test but it was so faint I just threw it out and thought I was not pregnant and was really annoyed. I was really crampy so I was certain my period was just late and it was coming any day. But when my period still did not come almost 10 days later I took other tests and they confirmed I was pregnant!!! I am currently 6 weeks. Me and hubby are going our prenatal checkup in a couple of days to hopefully hear the heart beat and do genetic testing. Very very excited. This product worked like a charm. Worth EVERY penny! P.S. -- I'm still very crampy and very very bloated but it's worth it. VS Most Liked Negative Review Helpful Technology (Maybe More! TBD!) This product is fine and certainly helpful. Comments about Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, 1 ea: I'm 28 years old trying for my first baby. My cycles are pretty consistent (25-27days). The monitor accurately predicted my estrogen rise as well as ovulation. I did not concieve my first cycle using the monitor (have been trying to conceive for 5 months). I'm currently on my second cycle using the monitor and so far it's working as expected. The monitor will work if you follow the instructions...this is one piece of equipment that you should read the instruction booklet thouroughly to ensure accurate results. I was using digital ovulation test sticks before buying the monitor and I prefer the monitor. If it takes you a few months to conceive, the price will even out when compared to the digital OPKs. I will write another review when I successfully concieve (I hope soon)! Pros

Comments about Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, 1 ea: I started using this product after 2 months of TTC. I found that coming off of birth control my periods were very irregular, and that although we were having intercourse when I thought I was ovulating, I still was ending up not pregnant. I bought this monitor truly because I was so upset that I had no clue when I was ovulating. Pros

Comments about Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, 1 ea: Ok, here is my experience with this product. I went off the pill in May, and thought it would be really easy to pregnant (so my friends say), but 2 months past without success. When it got close to the end of July I decided we needed help. We had planned for a baby for a long time and wanted it NOW!! Also my husband is in the military and we would be separated for 4 1/2 months, and we really wanted to get pregnant before that happened. So, I ordered this little beauty thinking it would take a couple months or so to work and a little skeptical overall. I started testing on the 6th cycle day and got nothing but low until day 15 and it went straight to peak. I actually thought I would not peak until day 20, but my cycles are really irregular. So we had sex day 15 and day 17 and on day 27 I took a pregnancy test and BFP!!! So I am almost 5 weeks along now and SO HAPPY! This was expensive, but for those who are ready just know that it is worth it. Good luck to all of you ttc, & God bless! Pros

Comments about Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, 1 ea: Although we am not TTC right now I bought this monitor as a way to really understand my cycles. I tried charting but I just couldn't get the hang of it. I love this monitor because it's easy and quick to use as well as accurate. I have a lot less stress about TTC later on (I've started using this so that when we are ready it'll make life a bit less stressful) because I really understand my cycle and know when I ovulate. This monitor should be a must for anyone who is ready to have a baby or wants to really understand their cycle! They need to lower the price a little bit though :/ Pros

Comments about Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, 1 ea: We bought this product as soon as we decided to TTC. Used this monitor from the 3rd day of my cycle...I tested it whenever I was asked to...It showed me low fertility level until day 13 of my cycle..I missed testing on day 14,but it went to peak fertility straight away when I tested on the 15th day.. But it was so accurate, that I'm pregnant now! The very first month we TTC, thanks to Clearblue! Pros

Comments about Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, 1 ea: I had a miscarriage in March 2009. We began ttc in May with no success month after month. My cycles were irregular after miscarrying, varying in length from 25 days to 29 days. My husband saw this monitor on a TV commercial and bought it for me. It worked correctly the first month and I got my August BFP today at 10 dpo! I ovulated later then I thought on CD15 and this monitor told me that. I recommend this monitor to all parent- hopefuls! Best Uses Comments about Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, 1 ea: Before investing in this product I read many reviews from customers who have used the monitor both with and without success. In the end I decided it was worth it and I definitely don't regret my decision. Now keep in mind that both my husband and I are young (26) and healthy so it is quite possible we would have easily conceived without the use of this monitor. But I am one of those people who likes to feel in control and know that I am doing everything possible to help myself succeed in any aspect of life. I first want to say that this monitor is very user friendly and easy to understand. On the downside it is expensive and the test strips are not cheap either. Basically with your first cycle of use you turn on the monitor during Day 1-5 of your cycle. You press a button to tell the monitor what day you started your period (Day 1). As long as you turn on the monitor during the first 5 days of your cycle you can easily press the button to set it to Day 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. Unfortunately if you do not turn the monitor on during these 5 days then you must wait until your next cycle to use it. Keep in mind that the time you press the button to start your cycle is important. You must turn on the monitor every day between 3 hours before and 3 hours after the time you push the button. So you have a 6 hour window every day. When you turn on the monitor every day it will tell you what day of your cycle you are on and if you need to test your urine that day or not. With the first cycle it will automatically tell you to start testing on Day 6 of your cycle. You will then either test 10-20 days in a row. From my experience and talking with others who have used the monitor typically you will use 20 sticks the first cycle as the monitor gets to know your cycles and it may or may not show that you ovulated that cycle. With the next cycle the day you start testing will depend on what the monitor has learned about your cycles, but normally you will only test for 10 days unless you have a very long cycle. Each day you test the monitor will either show that you are at low fertility with little chance of conceiving(one bar), high fertility when the monitor detects the estrogen surge that occurs several days before you ovulate(2 bars), or peak fertility when the monitor has detected a surge of LH meaning you will ovulate within 24-36 hours(3 bars with an egg). Typically after the first cycle of use you will have anywhere from 2-5 days of high fertility and 2 days of peak fertility. Once the monitor detects the LH surge and you are at peak fertility you will automatically be shown 2 days of peak fertility followed by one day of high fertility. So if money is an issue you can stop testing at the point when you are shown peak fertility. I have been on birth control for almost 10 years so I got off the pill one month before we tried to conceive so I could have one normal cycle. We were very careful that first month not to get pregnant but I did use the monitor my first month off the pill (the instructions recommend waiting several months after going off the pill before using the monitor). The first month I was shown low fertility on Day 6-8 of my cycle, high fertility on Day 9-19, peak fertility on Day 20-21, high fertility on Day 22, and low fertility on Day 23-26. Obviously I used 20 sticks on my first cycle, but it did show that I ovulated. My second cycle using the monitor (first month trying to conceive) the monitor asked me to start testing on Day 9 of my cycle. I was shown low fertility from Day 9-12, high fertility from Day 13-15, peak fertility from Day 16-17, and high fertility on Day 18. We had sex on Day 12, Day 14, and Day 16 of my cycle and 2 weeks later I was pregnant!!! I am currently 8 weeks pregnant and due March 6, 2010! So it worked for me on my very first try! Once again my husband and I are young and healthy and this is our first attempt to become pregnant so we may not have needed the monitor at all. But for my peace of mind I loved having the monitor tell me which days we needed to have sex. It gave me comfort and reduced my stress so for me that was worth the money. If you are the type of person who becomes stressed when thinking about testing and having to put so much effort into conceiving I don't think the monitor is for you. Everyone is different. I think it was worth every penny and I cannot wait to hold my precious baby in a few months!!! Good luck to all the women out there trying to conceive! Pros

Comments about Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, 1 ea: my husband and i tried for 2 years with no luck. i read many good reviews on this product so thought i'd give it a try before going for fertility treatment. most of the reviews i read, it worked within 2 months. for me, it worked on the 3rd month! it was unbelievable, i was shocked!!!!! i was actually pregnant! one piece of advice when using this product, you must be patient and consistant. i almost gave up on the 2nd month but was persistant on getting pregnant. i had a very irregular cycle and it worked perfectly. i will definitely use again for any future pregnancies! Comments about Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, 1 ea: I had used the ClearBlue Easy Ovulation test sticks for the approx 1.5 years we were TTC before I bought this monitor, and they worked very well too. I like that the monitor also reads increases in Estrogen. Unfortunately, the last month I used the monitor, I also took Clomid and this can greatly affect your results. Since Clomid can also push back ovulation, for the first time in two years I don't know when I ovulated. If I had just used the sticks I would have a better idea. But the good news is I'm pregnant! I love that you can use your FSA account for this product. Displaying reviews 41-50
