This was the best thing I every purchased in my life. I am a rather impatient person and like to be in control of certain things in my life (yes, Type A personality). Anyhow, I was 34 when me and my husband started trying to conceive beginning in June 2009 during our 1st year wedding anniversary in the Caribbean. Anyhow, I thought I knew my body like clockwork and that I ovulated on the 14th day of my cycle. WRONG. We tried in June and July during the 5 days before and up to what I thought was when I was ovulating (even planned our anniversary trip around those days). When we did not get pregnant during those 2 months I started freaking out. He's 41 and I was 34 so I thought we were screwed. Then something told me to look into getting a fertility monitor so I purchased this one. I was so annoyed when I opened the box to see that I had to start between the 1st and 5th day of my cycle. By the time I purchased the darn thing I was already on day 7. Being the impatient person that I am (I could not wait until the next month to start using it --- sorry), I just pretended I was on day 5 of my cycle and started using the darn thing. I figured I'd know I was 2 days off and the monitor would catch up on the next go around if we did not succeed during the first time. During the first 16 days of my cycle (according to the monitor) I was at "low" fertility. I started freaking out since, like I stated previously, I thought day 14 was my peak. Then, I got 2 high fertility days on days 17 and 18, followed by 2 peak days on days 19 and 20, respectively. Hence, I ovulated on day 20, which blew my mind. That was also my 35 birthday, which was sort of funny. Me and my husband made sure to have intercourse on virtually all of the high and peak days (especially my birthday of course), although we did skip one day because we both were dead tired from a late night workout. Anyhow, my cycle was 28 days as usual and I did not get my period on the 28th day. So I took one of those First Response (early results) test the day after my period was due (DON'T buy this First Response test BTW, it sucks) and it gave me only one solid line a really faint second line - so faint I really did not notice until I tilted the stupid test but it was so faint I just threw it out and thought I was not pregnant and was really annoyed. I was really crampy so I was certain my period was just late and it was coming any day. But when my period still did not come almost 10 days later I took other tests and they confirmed I was pregnant!!! I am currently 6 weeks. Me and hubby are going our prenatal checkup in a couple of days to hopefully hear the heart beat and do genetic testing. Very very excited. This product worked like a charm. Worth EVERY penny! P.S. -- I'm still very crampy and very very bloated but it's worth it.

Why It's Not Accurate for Some Women

LH (luteinizing hormone) is the hormone that surges anywhere from 0-52 hours before you ovulate, but typically around 24 hours. LH tends to surge in the morning, but not be in large enough quantities in your urine to show up until the afternoon or evening. By the time you have a positive OPK (ovulation predictor kit); you may have already had a surge for quite a few hours. And if you only test once in the morning, you may have had your surge for an entire day already.

Your first morning urine is the most concentrated, but this isn't the urine where the LH is usually going to show up first if you tested throughout the day. Then, if you're like most women, you're busy drinking your water for the rest of the day and your urine can become quite diluted. But you must drink up because your cervical mucus needs you to be well hydrated.

Many women only have a positive OPK for a couple of hours. Other women (PCOS) have multiple days of positive OPK's. If you look at the charts at a BBT charting website, such as Fertility Friend, you will see that most of the time, if a woman is using both OPK's and the CBEFM (Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor), they've already had a positive OPK an entire day before CBEFM gives them a "PEAK" reading. See picture below. It's not a great picture, but I've attached it anyway.

You really need to have your mate's umm….contribution where it needs to be almost before you get your positive OPK, but at the very least, it needs to be there immediately after you get your positive OPK, and added to for the following couple of days as backup.

If you BD (baby dance) on every "HIGH" and "PEAK" day the CBEFM gives you, you may be alright. If you're only BDing on "PEAK" days, you may be too late.

I've used the CBEFM for a couple of years and it has regularly NOT given me a "PEAK" reading, even though ovulation was confirmed via ultrasound and I got positive OPK's.

Because I have a cache of test sticks, I've been experimenting with it lately. Next cycle I am going to set the monitor so that the six-hour window of testing time will be between 9am-3pm or so. I am home during the day so this isn't a problem for me, otherwise I couldn't do it. I can't imagine bringing this device with me to work, although we've done some funny things already trying to get pregnant!

Definitely use another ovulation test as a backup with this.

I read a million reviews before I decided to actually buy this. Nobody wants to spend that much money if it doesn't work, right? I knew it would take a few months before it knew my body so I was shocked when I got pregnant the FIRST month using it!! I never would've thought! I went through missed periods over and over and one miscarriage and I just wanted to feel like I was in control a tiny bit. This absolutely made me feel in control! In fact, I've used the OPKs every month and this showed me that despite the accuracy of them, I was ovulating earlier than they said! No wonder! Anyway, I promised myself that if it worked I would write a review. Reading them helped me so much and I want to help others with their dream of having a baby!! Good luck everyone!:)

This is a very expensive product for what it does. They get credit for making the device and designing the software; this device provides an important service. However, the software is simplistic at best. When I took apart the device (it stopped working after the warrantee ran out) the circuit board and connections were cheap. Even the on/off switch was so cheap, that it defies logic to not pay a few cents more to get a better one. The price is outrageous once you inderstand the quality of the device.

Consider how much you would pay for your mobile phone, all of the functions it provides, and compare it to this device, its limited function, and how much it costs.

I suggest doing your math on how long you intend to test yourself and compare it to other testing methods that don't require an expensive device.

My husband and I have been TTC for many years. I have had two miscarriages, two failed attempts at IUI and was at the point of giving up. I saw this fertility monitor on Drugstore.com and decided to give this a try since nothing else had worked. My fertility specialist told me to use progesterone suppositories in addition to using the monitor. Within two months I conceived, and my doctor recommended I use the progesterone suppositories for the first 13 weeks of my pregnancy. I am very pleased to say that my daughter is now 8 months old and is the joy of our lives. This product really works!

This is a genius monitoring device and everyone I told about it became pregnant within 2 months of use. It worked beautifully, and we also used it to try to select our baby's sex. I had heard that you are more likely to conceive a boy if you are most active on within 24 hours of your peak, whereas a girl is more likely a a day or two before peak. Something about female spurm (misspelled for censors) being slower but living longer, whereas the male spurm get their fast but die quickly. We tried for a boy and now have a son! Who knows if it helped with that, but worth a try if you have a preference. Recommend this kit to EVERYONE.

I loved this product! My husband and I have been trying for almost 3 years for our 2nd child and no success. My menstrual cycle is never accurate and can never pin point when I actually ovulate. I buy the Ovulation home test every month and still could not get pregnant. I then came across this product online and read the reviews and decided to give it a try. I am now 4 1/2 months pregnant. After using this product for 2 months, I conceived. I now recommend this product to family, friends and coworker.

Before using this product I tried Other ovulation predictors. This one far out performed all of them. It keeps up with the days of your cycle, you almost know the exact date you conceived. After using the machine for 3 months I finally tested it and, I'm pregnant! This certainly takes the guess work out of having a baby.

I have been trying for 7 years and even went through infertility treatments with no success.

I was going to go another round with infertility treatments but wasn't emotionally ready to go through that again so I decided to purchase this monitor. I had my eye on it before but it's pricey.

Fast forward to now. I am pregnant with my rainbow baby (the baby after the rain) and couldn't be more amazed. I used this monitor for ONE month and it worked!

I can't say it will work in 1 month for someone else, or if it will work for someone else at all, but for this gal who had a 1% chance of conceiving naturally with a low ovarian reserve - this monitor was absoulutely needed.

                          Clearblue Fertility Monitor

                           – When you are ready to start your family, you want to improve your chances of conceiving quickly as much as possible. Using a Clearblue Fertility Monitor could help to reduce the time it takes to get pregnant. This simple device monitors your hormone levels to let you know exactly when you are at your most fertile.

                          Understanding Your Fertility

A woman's fertility generally peaks just before and during ovulation. By attempting to conceive during this period, you may be able to maximize your chance of successfully becoming pregnant. The problem is that many women have trouble determining when they are ovulating. The length of the menstrual cycle varies naturally between women, so your ovulation window will not necessarily fall exactly two weeks after your last period.

                          Identifying Your Fertile Window

Clearblue makes it easy to get a better idea of when you are ovulating. It works by detecting a surge in luteinizing hormone, which triggers ovulation. It also tracks estrogen levels, which rise during the early part of the menstrual cycle in preparation for ovulation. By precisely monitoring the levels of these two hormones, the Clearblue Fertility Monitor can help identify not only the day of ovulation, but also a window of up to six days that occurs just before you are due to ovulate.

                          Easy to Understand

The Clearblue Fertility Monitor is easy to use. There are no needles or blood tests required; you simply need to test your urine when the monitor prompts you to do so. It will then display a reading of either Low Fertility, High Fertility, or Peak Fertility. You may have the greatest chance of conceiving on the two Peak Fertility days that occur per cycle. However, there is also a strong chance of conception during the High Fertility period, which can last for up to five days.
