Clif Bar is named after my father, Clifford, my childhood hero and companion throughout the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
In 1990, I lived in a garage with my dog, skis, climbing gear, bicycle and two trumpets. The inspiration to create an energy bar occurred during a day-long, 175-mile ride with my buddy Jay. We'd been gnawing on some "other" energy bars. Suddenly despite my hunger, I couldn't take another bite. That's the moment I now call "the epiphany". Two years later, after countless hours in Mom's kitchen, Clif Bar became a reality. And the mission to create a better-tasting energy bar was accomplished. Thanks, Mom!

They are all tasty and give you something to really chew on so you feel fuller, but the Chocolate Chip Peanut Crunch is my standby flavor. After friends raved about the deliciousness of Clif Bars, I decided to give it a try. Organic, no hydrogenated (wholly or partially) oil... sure seems healthy -- the taste is, however, disappointing. Can you imagine that distinctly odd flavor in typical peanut butter energy bars? Yeah, it's in the Clif Bar as well.

I ride my bike everywhere and workout 3 days a week. These help with my hunger cravings and when I need a little boost. At times I will eat one for breakfast, when I am on the go.

I eat this for breakfast every morning before a work out! It holds me over foor a good two to threee hours. It tastes great with a cup of coffee! This is my favorite flavor Cliff Bar!
