Chemical Name: CLOTRIMAZOLE (kloe-TRIM-a-zole) and BETAMETHASONE (bay-ta-METH-a-sone)

Common uses for Clotrimazole-Betamethasone
Clotrimazole-Betamethasone 1-0.05% Cream is an antifungal and corticosteroid combination used to treat skin infections. It also relieves redness and itching associated with infections.

Before using Clotrimazole-Betamethasone
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Clotrimazole-Betamethasone 1-0.05% Cream. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. DO NOT TAKE CLOTRIMAZOLE-BETAMETHASONE 1-0.05% CREAM if you are also taking pimozide or an ergot alkaloid (eg, ergotamine). ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking barbiturates (eg, phenobarbital), carbamazepine, clarithromycin, hydantoins (eg, phenytoin), imatinib, interleukin-2, macrolide immunosuppressants (eg, tacrolimus), live vaccines, rifampin, or ritodrine. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, including diaper rash, eczema, measles, tuberculosis (TB) or a positive TB skin test, chickenpox, shingles, thinning of the skin, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Tell your doctor if you have recently received a vaccination. Use of Clotrimazole-Betamethasone 1-0.05% Cream in CHILDREN under age 17 is not recommended. Discuss with your doctor the risks and benefits of giving Clotrimazole-Betamethasone 1-0.05% Cream to your child. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions about taking Clotrimazole-Betamethasone 1-0.05% Cream.

Directions for Clotrimazole-Betamethasone
Use Clotrimazole-Betamethasone 1-0.05% Cream exactly as directed by your doctor. Wash and completely dry the affected area. Gently rub the medicine into the affected and surrounding areas until it is evenly distributed. Wash hands thoroughly before and after applying Clotrimazole-Betamethasone 1-0.05% Cream. DO NOT BANDAGE OR WRAP the affected area unless directed otherwise by your doctor. STORE CLOTRIMAZOLE-BETAMETHASONE 1-0.05% CREAM at room temperature, away from heat and light. TO CLEAR UP YOUR INFECTION COMPLETELY, continue using Clotrimazole-Betamethasone 1-0.05% Cream for the full course of treatment. Do not miss any doses. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF CLOTRIMAZOLE-BETAMETHASONE 1-0.05% CREAM, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.

Cautions for Clotrimazole-Betamethasone
DO NOT USE CLOTRIMAZOLE-BETAMETHASONE 1-0.05% CREAM if you have had an allergic reaction to it or if you are allergic to any ingredient in this product. IF YOUR SYMPTOMS DO NOT IMPROVE or if they become worse, check with your doctor. AVOID GETTING Clotrimazole-Betamethasone 1-0.05% Cream in your eyes. DO NOT USE CLOTRIMAZOLE-BETAMETHASONE 1-0.05% CREAM longer than the time prescribed by your doctor. DO NOT USE CLOTRIMAZOLE-BETAMETHASONE 1-0.05% CREAM for other skin conditions at a later time. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any medicines containing corticosteroids. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Clotrimazole-Betamethasone 1-0.05% Cream during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF CLOTRIMAZOLE-BETAMETHASONE 1-0.05% CREAM IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using Clotrimazole-Betamethasone 1-0.05% Cream, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible side effects of Clotrimazole-Betamethasone
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while using Clotrimazole-Betamethasone 1-0.05% Cream include dry skin or mild burning or stinging at the application site. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience acne-like rash; excessive hair growth; inflamed hair follicles; inflammation around the mouth; unusual bruising; irritation, itching, peeling, redness, blistering, swelling, oozing or severe burning at the application site; spider veins; or thinning, softening, or discoloration of the skin. An allergic reaction to Clotrimazole-Betamethasone 1-0.05% Cream is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur. If you have questions about side effects, contact your healthcare provider. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.
