We put it on for her every night, the light stays on for 45 minutes, unless you push the button to turn it off. It can glow either red, green, or blue, and you can change the colors by pushing the buttons on top of the ladybug. The red is the dimmest of the 3 colors, but you can still see the stars & moon on the ceiling .There is a switch on the bottom to turn the unit off if you are traveling, so the battery won't die. We take it with us if we are staying somewhere overnight. We recently took it on vacation for a week, it helped her sleep in an unfamiliar hotel room. I think the lights are just the right brightness to be soothing, it doesn't bother me at all if i sleep in the same room as my daughter. Great product! She now enjoys picking the color of the stars and moon and laying down looking at the stars and falling asleep before it turns off after 45 minutes!! Pros

The ladybug stays on for 45 mins so she is asleep before it cuts off. If your child is scared of the dark or is having a difficult time at night then this product is a lifesaver!
