He has a thick undercoat and his coat is almost "duck" like in that water does repel off his fur. Product lathers and rinses well. He's just a puppy, so the quicker I can get his bath time over with, the better. After his bath, his coat feels clean and he smells great. It's just the right scent, not too overpowering. I sometimes have to bathe him 4 times in a week. He hasn't developed any skin irritations, so I guess the product is really mild. I also have 2 long-haired dogs, but prefer to use shampoo with a separate conditioner. It shampoos well and rinses out wonderfully with no residue. My dog needs less baths by using this shampoo and that helps since I have a bad back and it's a difficult task since he weighs about 18 lbs even though he's a chihuahua. He's just big for his breed, but heavy none the less - and he seems to enjoy the smell of the shampoo as well. He knows when he's been groomed because he walks around all proud of himself! Pros

Best of all, it is safe for human use so when I ran out of shampoo one day, I used it on my own hair and the results were wonderful. It's far better than any product I have ever used on my hair. It states on the bottle that it is tested on humans so I wrote to the company and they responded that they all use it on their own hair. Pros

I was wrong. This product cleans well and leaves him smelling so good. I bathe him more often now because of the wonderful fresh scent of the lavender product. It also seems to calm him and he goes to sleep immediately after his bath. I love this product! Pros

I do use some more specialized grooming products for conformation showing but this product line is very gentle for frequent use. The combination of shampoo and conditioner makes the bathing process quicker.
