I have been searching, for many years, for a traditional aftershave that didn't have a girly scent. And I have tried some of the best names out there; Truefitt & Hill, George F. Trumper, Caswell Massey, Musgo Real, just to name a few. While they all were formulated from the best ingrediants, none of them was quite what I was looking for. Then I decided to take a chance and try the Clubman after shave. I must admit that my expectations, when I placed the order, were not very high; at this price, how good could it be? And one look at the cheap, plastic bottle did nothing to raise those expectations. But when I tried it, I was transported back to the barbershops of my childhood. And my wife loved it!!! Now I'm convert!I just wish it came in a better looking bottle made of glass. I leave my aftershave on the vanity top next to my shaving brush and razor so I'd be willing to pay a little more.

Bottomline, if you're looking for an aftershave that doesn't leave you smelling like a perfume shop and more like a barbershop of old, then this is the aftershave for you.

Great masculine scent. Use after shaving to heal razor nicks, leaves you with that clean cool refreshing feeling. Gret after shave, after shower, or after anything. A great pick me up to rid oneself of that smelly odor after a workout, or a day on the boat cleaning fish. Not perfumy like wife's Faberge or something. A good old fashion barber shop after shave. Love it!

I buy this every so often thru the years, its one of my all time favorite after shave scents and usually gets lots of compliments from the ladies. This is the first time I have bought it in a year or two since I like to rotate my arsenal of after shaves. Most every after shave I have is classic style scents and labels from different manufacturers. Well, this go round of Clubman it seems something has changed in the formulation. The scent is lacking, it still smells good but not nearly as much scent going on and fades into nothing pretty quick. Its like the fragrance has been watered down or their whole formulation has changed. You smell it when you put it on but once it evaporates the scent comes down to an almost unnoticable level very fast. No more compliments from folks since the scent is gone, I can no longer smell 20mins later. And my wife even asked me two different days why I am not using my new Clubman, I said I am! She sniffed right up against my neck and she said she barely smelled it. So, if they do not admit to changing something and go back to the old formula I will not buy it again.

I have purchased and tried almost all of the after shave lotions offered by Pinaud Clubman. I'm constantly looking for readily available scents to cover and/or compliment some of the synthetic human pheromone oils I experiment with. Alas, most of the lotions from Pinaud have NOT worked for that purpose. However, the Virgin Island Bay Rum, and to lesser extent, this particular lotion DO work as stand-alone after shave lotions--especially The Bay Rum! Good stuff. They both smell clean, fresh and are not overpowering, although they do fade rapidly. I would hesitate recommending application to freshly shaven skin though...ouch! This scent of this lotion reminds me of that old cologne "Jade." Definitely "old school."

Used by professional Barbers for years. And I don't mean the "Hair Stylist." I mean the guys that cut hair and give you a shave with a straight razor. There is nothing better on the market for a clean feel and comfort to sooth razor burn or other skin irritations.

This stuff burns like the fiery pits of hades after a shave,but thats ok,its supposed to and smells great.The trick is apply a moderate amount while your face is still damp and it will not burn so much and the scent will not be too overpowering.Follow with a balm afterwards because it will dry up your skin.

I use this everyday. Wonderful scent that lasts. I use it along with the Clubman talc.

Full strength it is a bit sharp, so we dilute it with water until it reaches the desired strength. This is actually a benefit, as it simply makes it go farther!

I prefer this scent on my fiance to any of his colognes.
