I'll stand by my earlier review about the overwhelming clove presence of this aftershave. I will say that I have since tried it mixed with Clubman Original and Clubman Classic Vanilla aftershaves. Mixing the Bay Rum with either of these two other Clubman aftershaves makes for a more pleasant experience, and in fact it's quite nice with the Clubman Classic Vanilla. This makes the clove notes more interesting and less "one note". Just know that mixing the Bay Rum aftershave with other scents is the ONLY way I will ever use this product. It will never again find it's way onto my face by itself and I still cannot recommend this product by itself.

This fragrance is clove and only clove. I'm a professional chef and can pick out and identify aromas quite well. Let me tell you that this aftershave is a one note song. There is no cinnamon, spice, leather, earthiness, woodiness, or musk in this fragrance. There is no citrus, floral, medicinal, coconut, RUM, or anything exotic at all. There is only clove, and alot of it. This might be a good aftershave for a cold winter night in front of the fire but it would be totally out of place any other time of year. It is a familiar scent and not necessarily offensive but it is very strong and one dimensional. Also reminds me of something an older man would wear. Not for young bucks no matter how much you think you love "classic" or "vintage".

I use it as I do an aftershave and thoroughly enjoy "bathing" in the fragrance. Just wish it would last longer.

This is the one that truly reminds me of the barbershop of the 50's.
Classic aroma, and inexpensive.

Soothes, and heals skin after a shave also.

A bit more spicy than the Old Dominica Bay Rum that I usually use, which is more woody and earthy. Still, I like it very much and will continue to use this product. It has a strong scent of cloves, so if you don't like spicy scents stay away. It's really nice to splash this on in the morning after shaving - fresh and invigorating. For the price, give it a try, if you don't like it you haven't lost much.
