I love this stuff, it reminds me of just getting out of the barber chair. It has a very unique smell and cools your face down after a nice shave. I'm a wet shaver and Bay Rum really has a nice cool sensation after having cut my face up which is inevitable for us wet shavers. I recommend Bay Rum but it's not for everyone. It does have sort of a spicy clove cinnamon smell at first but after it dries it blends in with your skin and smells quite nicely. It's a great bargain too. I'm hooked and will probably not buy anymore $50 designer colognes after having tried Bay Rum. Give it a try and if you don't like it, well it didn't cost that much anyway. Enjoy. It does fade to reasonable shortly after drying. As an aftershave, this burns more (sometimes much more) than Aqua Velva or Old Spice. (I use a double edge razor so this might not matter to someone who uses an electric or a multi-blade.) I won't buy it again, but it was worth a try (wish I bought the smaller bottle though). Comments about Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum, 12 oz: I first tried Bay Rum because I'd seen it mentioned in a Raymond Chandler novel, and it's become my regular fragrance. The Clubman Bay Rum is nice because it's not too strong, yet has just the right fragrance. Doesn't burn the skin at all. Highly recommended. I've been looking for this scent for years and just became brave enough to take the steps to purchase it. I'm ashame I waited so long and tried to make it with other products.. You can't duplicate perfection.. I HIGHLY recommend this! I want to share it with the brotherhood of men everywhere.. It's not fair to the opossite sex. When you went to a barber shop in the 50's you got a neck dusting with a talc powder, and a splash of bay rum when you left. There weren't a hundred selections like today, maybe one other I can remember. All of the Pinaud Clubman products are for the man's man. A lot of this stuff you buy today are put out in two flavors, a man and a womens version. Not so here, you can rest assured the only time you'll smell one of these colognes is when you pass another man. This is the only product I have used since the 70's, and intend to have a bottle in my pocket when I hit the pearly gates, just in case there's none up there!
