I've been using Cold Eeze for a few years now. I use it prophylactically in the winter or when I've been exposed to sick people (I pop one a day or so) and whenever I feel any onset of sinus irritation. There have been times when I take it at first sign of post-nasal drip or irritation in my throat/sinuses and it goes away and there have been times when I've done it and a cold develops anyway. This last week, my son had a severe cold and I started Cold Eeze along with Echinacea capsules and tea and I did go on to catch his cold, so I continued using Cold Eeze as well as Echinacea religiously (even more than every 2 hours) to really see if this stuff works. My cold lasted about 3 days and the symptoms were much milder than what my son had. I had a runny nose and sneezing, but my nasal passages stayed open. The cold never moved down into my throat or chest, so no chest congestion or coughing up yucky banana pudding mucous in the mornings. I never took any other medication to relieve symptoms and was still able to do my normal daily activities. This is a far cry from my colds of the past that would last at least a week and included stopped up nose, chest congestion, cough, sore throat and low-grade fever. Yes, the zinc does temporarily affect my taste buds, it can give me mild, momentary nausea if I use them on an empty stomach, and I get tired of having to taste them constantly, but I would rather deal with these minor inconveniences than deal with a raging head cold that totally knocks me out for a few days. I will add that that longer you wait for your cold to develop before you start Cold Eeze, the less effective it is. It works best when you take it before you even know you have a cold, when you are exposed to other sick people or at the very first sign of post-nasal tickling and then they have to be used very consistently until symptoms subside. If you start them after your cold has become full-blown, don't expect great results.

Comments about Cold-Eeze Cold Remedy Lozenges, Cherry, 18 ea:

My aunt picked these up for me because I started to get sick right before finals. She was just looking for a cough drop but since I have a food coloring allergy it's difficult. These have no food coloring, in fact they are clear. One problem is they taste kinda bad and dry out my mouth. It's not pleasant. I had to drink a lot of water with these. Why do they taste like that? I didn't experience any stomach problems(thankfully) like some of the other people. I think they work. I started to be able to breath and my throat stopped hurting. I was only sick for about 3-4 days. I really didn't expect much.

Since they alter your tastebuds, take them right after a meal. Then by the time you need the next one, your tastebuds will be back online. But these things are as close as we'll ever get to the "cure for the common cold".

I don't get the negative reviews. This stuff works for me every single time I feel like I am going to get a cold. Yesterday the right side of my throat and ear was hurting, and I had a ton of cold sores in my mouth. I was feeling like I had been hit by a truck..very tired. I knew I had some type of virus and I knew I better get cold eeze. I stopped on my way home from work, got a box and started taking as directed, every two hours. Got 3-4 doses in before bed. Woke up feeling TONS better. This is not the first time this has happened. I am SOLD on this product. I've never seen anything work the way this stuff works! I have recommended this to all my friends.

Will use every time I get a cold from now on! Started taking on second day of being sick(along with Nyquil) and was surprisingly coughing up phlegm by that night & actually feeling better! Must remember not to take on an empty stomach or it can cause nausea.

I stared taking Cold-EZE at the very first hint of a sneeze, and they did absolutely nothing for me. I was just as sick for just as long as I've always been with a common cold.
They didn't hurt, but they didn't help either. Chicken soup would have been better.

Again, taste is everything when it comes to zinc lozenges. After a day, I finally got the chemical tasting coating off my tongue. ZAND is much, much better, without the junk, too.

They do what the box says: Cuts colds in half. Rather than being sick for 7+ days, taking them early on will cut colds to 3-4 days.

I haven't gotten stomachaches from this product like others described. But, I do get dry mouth from them. It's a small price to pay for not having to be sick as long!

If a coworker is around me while he/she is sick I will even pop a few throughout the day even when I am not sick juuuust in case I catch some of their germs. A little extra zinc never hurt anyone, right?

                  I think they work fantastic!

                  Cold-Eeze Cold Remedy Lozenges, Cherry

                   – An occasional cold, no matter how inconvenient, is a fact of life for most people. The sneezing and stuffiness makes it difficult to work and even harder to sleep! Cold-Eeze Cold Remedy Lozenges, Cherry contain zinc gluconate glycine, an ingredient doctors and pharmacists often recommend for patients with colds. Each lozenge dissolves in your mouth, slowly releasing the active ingredients along with a pleasant cherry flavor. Cold-Eeze Cold Remedy Lozenges, Cherry are formulated to reduce the duration and severity of cold symptoms including nasal stuffiness, cough, sore throat, sneezing and post-nasal drainage so you can feel better faster. To maximize the benefits, take it at the first sign of a cold.

                  Cold Relief without Drowsiness

The problem with many cold relief medications is that they often cause drowsiness. Cold-Eeze Cold Remedy Lozenges, Cherry won't make you feel sleepy or interfere with your ability to work or stay awake. Plus, this non-sedating cold lozenge won't cause light-headedness or a drop in blood pressure like some cold preparations. The ingredients in Cold-Eeze Cold Remedy Lozenges, Cherry are also less likely to interact with prescription and over-the-counter medications. If you're taking antibiotics or a blood thinner, check with your doctor before using Cold-Eeze Cold Remedy Lozenges as they can reduce the absorption of some antibiotics and blood thinners.

                  Natural Cold Solutions

Cold-Eeze is committed to offering cold relief products based on natural, homeopathic principles. Their products harness the power of zinc, a mineral your body needs for good health. Based on a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, zinc gluconate may have the ability to shorten the duration of colds by almost half. In addition, Cold-Eeze offers a variety of products formulated with zinc gluconate including a homeopathic oral spray for colds and lozenges for daytime/nighttime cold relief. A recent addition to its line is a lozenge with zinc gluconate and other active ingredients that may help support immune health.
