I use it all over--on super dry patches on my face, on my heels and elbows, on my nails and cuticles, and even on the tips of my hair when it gets damaged and "crunchy". I've never had problems with break-outs and my skin is sensitive to all kinds of things. If the tin is cool/cold the lanolin can be hard, and hard to use. Put the whole tin behind your back while you're sitting in an upholstered chair, or under your thigh, or run your hairdryer on it for a minute to warm it up. Lanolin doesn't soak in quickly, so it's better to use it at night or sitting in front of the TV, and don't try it under your makeup no matter how dry your skin is; it makes a nasty, cake-y mess.

I am currently using this product to try and minimize pregnancy related stretch marks. It is hard to put on, it feels really hard in the container. It pulls at my skin when I put it on, and tends to feel really sticky. It's not soft. However, it does work in softening my skin. It feels a little bit weird, definitely not like lotion or body butter at all, more like spreading lip balm all over your body.

Comments about Common Sense 100% High-Purity Lanolin, 1.9 oz:

I used pure lanolin when breastfeeding and realized I could use remaining lanolin I had for my lips and hands. I decided to buy this thinking it would be similar to those products. The texture is similar and it probably yields the same results but the odor is terrible and strong. You can 100% tell that this product came from an animal. Bottom line, buy the brands that are designed for breastfeeding mothers, unless you are are interested in smelling like a barnyard!!

This product worked after one use on my hard, calloused feet. Can't wait to see how soft my feet will be when I use the product after a pedicure.

Comments about Common Sense 100% High-Purity Lanolin, 1.9 oz:

When the package arrived the containers of lanolin leaked. The heat from the weather melted the product and the oil seapted out. Plastic bags and tighter product packaging would have gotten 5 stars. The lanolin it self is great have used it for years in a cream form that was cheap from W*****t but could not find it anymore. This stuff you need to warm it up in your hands to get it to spread easily. Use it at night mostly, if I do during the day I wear socks to keep it on my feet.

As an older user, this pure lanolin keeps my skin well moisturized and keeps working for a long time. It does not cause any irritation that some lotions and creams can.

Common Sense is serious hand therapy and overnight relief for chapped hands and splits in the skin by the fingernails. I am so glad it is available as I haven't found anything that works as well. It is a little greasy so it is best applied before sleeping and wear cotton or silk gloves to keep it from getting on bedding. I will buy this over and over again and I have been using it for years. A little bit goes a long way. I ordered two tins for the winter.

Comments about Common Sense 100% High-Purity Lanolin, 1.9 oz:

The skin at my fingertips next to my nails often splits in the winter time. I've tried many products that supposedly help to heal these painful cuts, but this pure lanolin is the only thing that has consistently healed them and prevented more from happening.

I was familiar with a lanolin ointment that I used many years ago, but this product is 100% pure lanolin straight from sheep wool. When it's first applied it may seem sticky, but once it's worked into your skin it is neither sticky or greasy. It DOES smell like a sheep barn, though. I don't mind that, being a country woman, but others might find the odor offensive.

I highly recommend this product to anyone who needs a gentle, natural ointment for their hands or chapped lips, elbows, knees and heels.
