I should of read the comments here before picking this up at a local chain drug store. The drying out had already occurred when I opened the bottle the first time. It was like dried up rubber cement. Completely unusable and trash. Getting the gel like others recommended.

Read to have a perfect experience with this product. Kind of extended, but worth the read.

1. Allow the product to oxidize. Exposure to air makes the product more viscous and less fluid which gives you more control when applying it to the affected area(s). I used this product to remove two warts. The first was on my left hand underneath my pinky finger on the fleshy side that bridges the palm and the back of the hand; the second was on the inside of my right ankle. When I used the product the first day, it was so runny that it dripped on unaffected areas around the wart and gave me a tiny (but painful) chemical burn. The active ingredient is a strong acid, so it's best to give the product time after opening (maybe two days) before using, because it is much easier to use when it is more like a gel than like a liquid.

2. Apply before you go to bed and sand off in the morning using an emery board for particularly small warts or a pumice stone for larger warts. For this reason in particular, it is best to go to a dermatologist or try the freeze off remover for larger warts, because personally I wouldn't want to sand away at a huge wart for two weeks. You are also not supposed to walk around with the white blob on your skin; sand off before you start your day and reapply to remove whatever is remaining the following evening after you get home from work, school, etc.

These two simple things keep you from burning yourself like I did or from feeling embarrassed about the white blob like I did until I read this more explanation for how to use the product.

As soon as you open the bottle, the liquid contents will begin to dry the entire bottle after 3-4 days. You can try and twist the cap on tight, but like other users have complained, the liquid dries out rock solid. What a waste of money, dang! DEFECTIVE. Use the "gel" formula in the tube.

I had a wart on my hand (unfortunately in a place that a bandage wouldn't stay on) and this product did work. Yes, it made it an ugly white blob -- far more noticeable than the wart was by itself -- but it eventually removed it. However, as other reviewers have said, the liquid does turn into a gooey gel after a very short period of time and no longer sticks to the wart. Therefore, I ended up using about 3 bottles before the wart was completely gone -- almost $30. Ouch! But still cheaper than having a doctor remove it....

I had a plantars wart on the bottom of my foot for about 3 1/2 years. I bought the Compound W liquid treatment thinking that it would work. After about 2 days of using it, it turned into one big blob. I did not expose it to the air other than when I opened it to use it. I then threw it away and went and bought a store brand liquid treatment. After using that for 3 days the wart peeled off. I would not recommend the Compound W liquid treatment to anyone!

Don't buy this!! After it has been opened and exposed to air it dries up within days and is unusable. The gel that comes in a tube works and does not dry out - I was able to finish a whole tube in two months.

I will give it a zero star, if possible. This product is a nonsense. First, the brush application does not work as the gel dries off quickly, stuck on the brush. I tried hard to put the liquid on top of the wart, but it didn't work. One night, I didn't close the lid by mistake and now it's permanently unusuable. I will never buy this again. Rather, use the clear liquid one or the sticker one. They work.

I had a bunch of warts in my leg all together. It took a week until the skin peeled off after I used the product...it did work, but left a small scar, and it was painful. The liquid gets gooey fast, so you will need to use it more often, maybe two times a day.

Seems to work the first week, but as others have mentioned, once the liquid is exposed to air too long, it becomes gooey and unusable.
