In using this product I found it gets much too hot.
This was not a cheap item so I was surprised that I have had such difficulty in using it.

I needed a brush/comb type curling iron at a 1" size, nearly impossible to find. This fit that need well, but every other row of comb had very short "teeth" to hold the hair. That makes it very difficult to hold thick hair and the comb gets too hot to hold in with your hands without gloves. If the brush prongs or comb teeth were the same good full length on all rows, it would have worked beautifully. As it was, I could not use it. [...]

I bought this styler because it was the closest thing I could find to what I was actually looking for. At first, the heated red bristles seemed like a good idea until I burned my fingers and scalp on them trying to get the barrel close enough to my scalp so I would not have a nice smooth section and then a fuzzy section close to my scalp. Not good! Sad to say, this styler has taken to gathering dust on my counter. I will be replacing it now that I've actually found what I was originally looking for on drugstore.com.

The curling iron is big and awkward to handle. It does the job but it is hard to use. Also, the cooling tip on the end is very small, so I have burnt myself several times. I am going to give this to my daughter or a friend.

This is a good product. The only thing I don't like is the off/on button is right where you place your hand, I have to turn it back on several times while useing it because my finger hits it.

I adore this hot curling brush. It adds volume to my extremely straight hair without adding curls. The best part? The volume lasts which is amazing.

I had given up on smoothing my very abundant, long, naturally curly hair years ago. Blow-drying with a round brush took many sweaty hours, and flat irons gave an unnatural limp pressed look. Skeptically, I took a chance on this Styler. The results are AMAZING! It is meant for use on dry or almost dry hair. I have used this after overnight air-drying or quick-drying with a hair dryer. It takes about 15-20 mins on my massive mop. After 6 weeks I have NO heat damage. My hair condition is actually better since I am no longer drowning my hair in (expensive) products to control the curl or causing breakage by pulling the hair back wet. I will probably buy a few more if I see them on sale to keep as back-ups in case this ever gets discontinued. The only minor complaint is that the power & temp controls are easy to press accidentally while holding the handle. With practice, it is easy to adapt to this little flaw.

I have used this type of brush curling iron for over 20 years. This one gives a stronger curl probably because its hotter and the every other row of heated bristles. You have to get used to the bristles being hot so you have to retrain yourself how to wind the curls. I wish they had made the handle a little longer I always seem to turn it off and need to restart it. Just a matter of where you hold the handle. When you first start using this type of curling iron you really have to practice because yes you can get your hair tangled and thats a mess. Just keep practicing.
