Coola MineralBaby sunscreen has its pros and cons. Pros: great long lasting sun protection, no scent, non-toxic ingredients cons: hard to apply, looks very white on the skin initially, white residue transfer to clothing and objects, difficult to remove even with soap I originally purchased this product because EWG scored it a 1 hazard rating, which is the lowest score available. I have been using it on my fair skinned 3 year old for the past two weeks of daily swim lessons. It has delivered superior sun protection, but she has also developed quite a nice tan over time. We are usually in and out of the pool from about 9:30am to 12:00pm. I do not have to reapply the sunscreen during that time and she has not had any redness whatsoever. The product is very thick coming out of the tube, and it requires a lot of rubbing to apply it. It appears very white on the skin at first, but after a short dip in the pool the white color fades away. The other day I applied it before we left for the pool and found that there was white residue all over the car seat, but I was able to remove it fairly easily with a wet wipe. I did have some difficulty removing the sunscreen from my hands, even with soap. I tried some of my oil based facial cleanser, which took it right off. Overall I am pleased with this product and I am back for a second tube. I am usually a very frugal shopper, but I think this product is worth the price because it provides reliable sun protection without the toxic ingredients found in almost all of the sunscreen products that I can purchase locally.
Had high hopes for this but it just didn't work. Whole family used it and we all got burned. We only spent 3 hours in the sun and re applied several times, so that wasn't the issue. It is also very thick and hard to rub in. Even when rubbed in, you will still have some white residue. I'll keep looking!
