A redheaded, extremely fair-skinned friend recommended this sunscreen to me as an alternative to the absorbing sunscreens. I love this stuff, and will use it from now on.

Family was in the sun and in and out of water and inner tubes for an entire day - NOT ONE BURN

Of course it isn't going to feel as nice as the absorbing products - it sits on top of your skin (so I don't understand the negative comments regarding that characteristic)

INSTANT COVERAGE - unlike absorbing sunscreens, you get instant protection and don't have to wait the obligatory 15 minutes before entering water. My kids totally dig that.

A little white, but not much. Not enough to consider as a negative.

NO AWFUL SMELL...this stuff smells pleasant

PRICE POINT...compare this to the other sensitive skin, non-chemical products and you will be impressed.

Highly recommended for people with normal skin as well as sensitive skin.

Very dry so it is difficult to spread. It also looks very white and doesn't rub in or fade. In spite of the dryness, it runs with a little sweat and collects in skin creases. Looks bad, hard to use, I won't buy it again.

Comments about Coppertone Sensitive Skin Suncreen Lotion, SPF 50, 6 fl oz:

Holy cow!!! I'm a high end spf snob & this is AMAZING!!!!!! It doesn't make me break out becuse it's primarily Zinc. It does go on WHITE so prepare to rub for a bit to get it to go clear. I don't know that I think it goes totally clear, it has a beautiful sheen to it - makes your skin look like butta! :) I only have to use a tiny bit of my bare minerals, and it looks like I have perfect skin. This is so amazing, all spfs seems to make me break out & this one is different & I LOVE the sheen!! Maybe not so good for guys skin - almost has a makeup perfect skin look. LOVE! I wish I had discovered this earlier!!!

Comments about Coppertone Sensitive Skin Suncreen Lotion, SPF 50, 6 fl oz:

My dermatologist recommended using a sunscreen with zinc because I have eczema. This sunscreen is gentle yet effective on my sensitive skin. It is well priced, especially compared to some similar products.

Comments about Coppertone Sensitive Skin Suncreen Lotion, SPF 50, 6 fl oz:

My 5 year old has fair, sensitive skin and most sunscreen formulas (including sensitive skin formulas, baby formulas, formulas that claim to be as "gentle as water") make him break out in a rash. He plays outdoor soccer in Texas, so sunscreen is critical.

This formula protected him from sunburn for 2 hours in the hot Texas afternoon sun with no redness, itching, or rash.

Although this formula is thick because of the high percentage of zinc oxide, with a little patience, it goes on smoothly and evening and rubs in fairly well. A little goes a long way - if you try to apply this the way you apply regular sunscreen, your face WILL be white, but it really doesn't take that much to do the job.

It also goes on MUCH easier than some of the other all natural, organic, very expensive brands of zinc oxide I've tried. I bought this because the other formulas rock up (literally; it had very small stones in it after about 6 months), are difficult to apply, and are very expensive.

It did run a little bit when he sweat, but it didn't compromise coverage. It also didn't seem to get into his eyes (until he showered). So there was some stinging when it got into his eyes, but it took the shower to do it. It's because of this that I only gave it 4 stars. Otherwise, for application, quality, and price, this stuff is AWESOME.

Comments about Coppertone Sensitive Skin Suncreen Lotion, SPF 50, 6 fl oz:

I have red hair, very fair skin and my aunt died of skin cancer so I'm very careful when I'm in the sun. I've searched for years for a sunscreen that works and isn't full of tons of harsh chemicals. This is the one! It doesn't sting or burn, it's waterproof and, most importantly, it works. I generally excercise in the early morning hours or the evening so I can't speak to its sweatproof abilities, but I can sit out at the beach and be sure I won't be a lobster by the end of the day.

This works just as well as the more expensive zinc based sunscreens - good for eczema prone skin and provides the best protection.

Comments about Coppertone Sensitive Skin Suncreen Lotion, SPF 50, 6 fl oz:

My dermatologist recommended this by name and brand because they've added enough Zinc Oxide to provide a physical barrier against the harmful rays, and they've changed the nature of the Zinc Oxide in such a way that you can rub it into your skin. It does take some time and effort to rub it in, but your skin and your life are definitely worth it!
