I take 4 pills a day (recommended starting dosage) and find that using the stairs is now easier as is general movement. While this product is more expensive than many others, it's worth every dollar spent. That's the only down side. I will only use this product from now on for my joint problems. When I took him in for his wellness-check, an x-ray revealed he had hip/joint issues. The doctor recommended Cosamin ASU twice a day (four capsules total) to relieve pain and discomfort (I open the capsules and add them to his food). I began to see a difference in his mobility within the first couple days of adding it to his food. He had freedom of motion again. He felt better and could walk without limping, run even, and he could rough house with the other dog. He still has his days, particularly when it rains, but he is a much happier dog. The cost of Cosamin ASU is an adjustment, but if you were suffering with joint pain, you'd take whatever gave you relief. This offers the relief Cody needs. He is a happier dog. If I don't take it I can feel the difference. I had given it to my horse who had joint problems and saw how well the equine product worked and tried the human version and that's what got me hooked to the supplement. My husband learned about this product while attending a continuing education seminar. I have significant osteoarthritis and have tried other glucosamine/chondroitin products and wanted them to work but they did nothing. I have tried many NSAID's and they have side effects. Within several days after starting this product, I actually noticed real improvement in mobility and comfort. I was amazed and pleased! I take 4 if I am more active and have been down to 2 at times.
