Comments about CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick, Everlasting 345, .12 oz:
I received two of these to try from BzzAgent: Coquette (375) and Hot (305). There were some noticeable differences between the shades, but the performance was the same for both. Impressively, my initial application lasted through drinking and eating. There was some transfer to the glass, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the colour on my lips was still fully intact.
Coquette is a cool-toned metallic pink. It's highly pigmented, with full coverage after a single swipe. Blotting my lips toned down the frostiness, but left the colour. There is a strong vanilla sugar scent that I'm not a fan of. It's not unbearable, but was noticeable for some time after it was applied. The formula is rich and creamy; it glided on smoothly and was comfortable to wear. I wore this shade exclusively for three days to assess their moisturizing claims. I didn't notice any improvement in my lips, but they also didn't get worse.
Hot is a bright semi-matte red that is the colour allegedly worn by Drew Barrymore in the promo pictures. In the tube, it looks like a true neutral red, but once applied it's more of a coral-red shade. I'm a fan of red lipsticks, and I loved this shade. Unlike Coquette, there wasn't much of a fragrance to this. While I preferred this shade, the texture left something to be desired. Since it has a semi-matte finish, it lacks the creaminess of the other shade. It applied smoothly and was comfortable to wear, but it was noticeably drier. After wearing this exclusively for two days, I noticed that my lips were drier than normal.
I really wanted to like these, they are long-lasting and there appears to be a wide range of shades. Unfortunately, the scent of Coquette and the drying issue of Hot put me off. I suspect the differences I experienced are indicative of inconsistencies across the entire line.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
