I don't wear much makeup (lipstick & blush only for many years now). I like this a lot. This is a stain which means you put it on and the 'stain' remains. I came from a time when lipstick was just that, nothing fancy, just pick your color. Yet I always wore lipstick if nothing else. So I figured I'd try this, even after reading the reviews. Here's what I like being my age (mid 50's): It's a stain..doesn't 'run' and stays put, last a very long time as a stain which tints my lips for a long, long time. I wake up and still have a pink tone to my lips. That's exactly what I wanted. Does NOT dry out my lips at all, just the opposite (and I've used those that do dry out something awful, so maybe it's age). Put this on, a couple minutes later add a lipstick or gloss if you wish. To me, it did what I wanted...to tint my lips for hours and hours on end. As a tint, it did not wear off, rub off, nothing. It did what it says, tints. I'm back to buy more. Hope this helps.

Saw this recommended as a great lip product. No,no,no!!
It looks like you applied an ugly felt tip marker to you lips!
Skip this, it will just make you look crazy!

I really like these CoverGirl lip stains - they look natural, go on easy, and last a long time. My only issue is with the color. If you can't find a shade that is close to your natural lip color, you end up looking way too over-done. This color is much darker than the packaging would make it appear, and since these are a stain, it is difficult to soften them by layering on a gloss or blotting off, as you would with a regular lipstick.

I have used CC lip stain since they came out. I am not good at refreshing lipstick during the day so most of the time I have no color at all. The stain offer long lasting color without drying too much. This plum color is a little dark but I like it.

you could use a permanent maker board pen -color bleeds and is uneven and very drying - not pretty colors - very bright shocking pink - don't buy

I should have listened to the other reviewers and skipped this items. The color is way off and doesn't stay on. Lips feel dry. Wouldn't buy again.

This stain lasts forever and is so easy to put on evenly with it's marker shape. The colors are very bright and complimentary for this season. I'm a big fan of low-maintenance, and it lasts all day with full color once applied. However, as a stain, it is drying and shows chapped lips clearly so you might want to wear a clear gloss over it..

This is the worst lip product I've used in ages! I actually bought it in person, with the salesperson telling me that the colors were very subtle. Wrong! This color is more like the tube, not the example that is shown. I was hoping for a deep plum color, but it really is more like a flourescent orangey-pink.
The application is terrible - just like coloring in your lips with a magic marker. Streaky, uneven, etc.
The stain adheres more to dryer areas of the lips. For me, it wore off everywhere but around my lips - making me look like I lined my lips very unattractively. Wore off unevenly in other places.
TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE!
