This is my favorite eyeliner. The color looks great with brown or hazel eyes, because it's a very natural-looking purple, not bright or "electric" purple. Also, you can apply with a light touch for just a little color or you can apply a thicker line for a more dramatic look. Like another reviewer, I live in fear that this color will be discontinued. There's no better purple eyeliner out there!

The other reviews amused me. One complains it has a point, the other that it doesn't! I've used this everyday for years because:
1. it is a good color to set off my green/hazel eyes without being too high contrast against my pale skin and light (strawberry blonde) hair/lashes/brows. The best color I've found for me.
2. It goes on easily, unlike some pencils that are too dry and won't leave a line w/o trauma to the eyelid. The line width is just right for me, not ultra thin.
3. Don't need to sharpen, which wastes a lot of product.
4. It doesn't smear or smudge.

Qualities that lead to 4 rather than 5 stars:
1. it does "fade" (gets wiped or washed off) after a work day. But I don't want to put the stuff that makes make-up "long-lasting" (hairspray) in my eyes.
2. Sometimes the stick of product breaks inside the pencil, so that it slips back in when you try to apply, causing me to scrape the plastic sheath across my lid, ouch. I wonder if this is what happened with the reviewer who says it was too thin and sharp.

I live in dread of this being discontinued, so maybe if others find it as good as I do, and buy it, they'll keep making it!

This is the WORST eyeliner I have ever tried. Specifically the Plum Velvet color. There is no color whatsoever. I admit, I need color because I have medium skin and brown eyes and medium brown hair - so I need color or it just looks like my skin color. BUT the name PLUM VELVET implies there is a dark velvetty plum color - this is not true AT ALL. It shows up as a faded, barely any color, pale brown looking color - I put on three layers and got little color, and the point is so thick, it was like a thick pale brown line.

If you don't want much color in your liner, a thick line, and the ability to remove with just a swipe of your finer tip, I guess this is for you - but I like a thin line, with color, that stays put, unless I purposely want to smudge it. I like my liner to define my eyes - I don't like it obvious, but enough that it gives some shape. This does nothing - and it certainly doesn't give you a PLUM VELVET COLOR or a PERECT POINT - there is NO POINT.

This eye pencil is extremely thin and pointy, and so very difficult and uncomfortable to apply. I used it for 2 weeks to see if I could soften it up a bit but it remains very sharp, The pencil itself is just way too thin. It's like using a pin to apply your eye makeup.

I do like the color but I won't buy this again. I'll look for something with a thicker, softer point.

I am in my 40s and probably have more sensitive eye-skin than women in their 20s. This may not bother a younger woman, I don't know.

The color of this is nice and really brings out the green in my eyes. It also doesn't bleed onto my eyelids the way that other liners do.
