I first bought this at winter time for the kids room and it has worked well. The low bubbling sound almost calms them to sleep. We've used in the the other bedrooms too when we have been congested and it works great. Beware when blasting it on high though, you'll really get everything wet around it. I plan on just buying 2 more for the BR so I won't have to lug it around. Had it for 3 months now and no problems so far.

I am holding out hope that Crane's customer service will respond to my report that the humidifier doesn't run consistently.
It WOULD be a great product, but it seems that the part that indicates whether there's enough water available to turn into a mist (the float) is errant and has been straight out of the box. The first night we tried it, I turned on the humidifier and left the room... came back in to check on it an hour later, and the light indicating the tank was empty was on, no mist coming out. The tank was full. I've been persistant in trying to get it to work, and it's worked one full night in the 2 weeks we've owned it.
If it DID run consistently, it would be great. Love the adjustable mist, the quiet operation, the lack of filter to get nasty -- the design is very smart. And as far as humidifiers go, the tank is no easier or harder than others to clean. But it is easy to fill in my bathroom sink, which is a major plus. *sigh*

This product helps if you have allergies. This is my second time in Iraq and I considered having a humidifier a blessing due to the dry climate. I used this product at night only for 3 weeks+ and it stop working. I inspected the humidifier inside and out to see what was going on come to find out, the fan wasn't working anymore. I tried fixing the equipment, forget it. Also inside the compartment where you put the water bin there is a hole that leads inside the electrical compartment (theres even a pic says do not get water in it, theres a hole and water goes on top of it. what the possibility water gettin in it? very HIGH). So don't buy this, not worth it.

I am using this humidifier (frog version) in my baby's room, and it functions to keep it from being too dry. However, as a previous reviewer stated (for the elephant version), water gets everywhere. Condensation on the lid and tank drip every time I remove the tank to fill it. This is not a problem I have with my Vicks humidifier. Additionally, the instructions indicate not to place the humidifier on a wood or fabric surface due to potential water damage (after a night's use, there is water on the surface surrounding the unit). This doesn't really leave me many places to put the humidifier since the wooden furniture and carpeted floor are out. Once again, location is not an issue for my Vicks humidifier. I bought this humidifier because it was cute, but I much prefer my other humidifier for easy and cleanliness.

I purchased the Crane frog for my daughter when she was an infant....she'll be 6 in February, and it's still working. Last year something happened (can't remember what), and it doesn't blow the steam out as far as it used to. nevertheless, it sits on her nightstand and does a fine job. in my experience, the quality of all humidifiers is sketchy in general, so to have one for 5 years is remarkable. That said, this product does seem to be hit or miss. I purchased the elephant for my son 2 years ago, and it broke 2 days ago. The bottom literally fell out of it.
