Of all of the gifts she received, if someone asked her what she received, she'd excitedly tell them about her Hello Kitty Humidifier! It is adorable. I like that I can see the mist coming out of Hello Kitty's ears and the way it comes out tells me if I have the humidity output control at the right level. The directions tell how to tell that. Hello Kitty also has a nightlight that's not too bright and can be turned off or on, even if the humidity switch is off. This humidifier is easy to clean. Much easier than the last one that we had that I got rid of after I saw how easy Hello Kitty was to clean. I wrote a note on my calendar on the same day each week to tell me to clean it, or I'll forget and I don't want to do that. Having a clean humidifier keeps winter colds and respiratory problems to a minimum. We are very happy with the Hello Kitty humidifier. Well, ours lasted through her illness, but after about 2 months it just quit blowing out the "steam". You can still hear the motor, and I did everything just like I did when it worked fine before, but the "steam" just hovers and doesn't come out Kitty's ears anymore. But the humidifiers started to make very loud noise and had molds growing inside even though we used filtered water. Now they are just sitting in my garage and I am looking for other kinds of humidifiers. I was attracted by the Hello Kitty design. OHHH HOW CUTE?? Don't fall for it because after a year of use now the black plastic thing inside the base is deteriorating and the more I clean it more pieces fall off. The product works well in a small area and it needs some ventilation to circulate in the room. On high a lot of mist comes out and get things in that area very moist. I usually put it on medium or low and it controls the mist better. The maintenance of this product is too much. You really have to keep it clean and change the filter. If you don't use it for a while the water starts to get rusty and very nasty inside. I feel like it just ends up being a health issue when you don't know when it starts doing that. I was disappointed that I can only find the filter on drugstore.com This specific model filter was not sold anywhere near me and the ones they sold were made for other models made by Crane. We bought it for our daughter's room, but it works so much better than all the others, even the boys want to use it. The adjustable mist is great...no more wet nightstand. The steam just stopped blowing. I went out and bought a Vicks for 1/3 the price and it has worked perfectly for a year. I wouldn't waste your money--it's expensive and poorly made! Pros

It's easy to use and is adjustable for how much humidity you want it to give off. The night light is pretty cute too :). It is easy to refill, you have to refill it every other day or so depending on what setting you have it on, but I don't consider this a bad thing because it would be too heavy to easily handle if it held more water. Overall I love this product and I get many compliments on it! Pros

I purchased this to replace a Sesame Street one we had for our daughter and it was hard to clean, loud and not adjustable. I liked the idea of not spending a forture (as I did for the last one) on filters. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made! It's quiet, looks cute and even functions as a nightlight!
