Very cute visually.

However, unike the Frog and similarly shaped Crane humifiers, this one uses the same switch to regulate the vapor flow for turning off the device. This was very inconvenient as it turned out that the vapor had to be set at a specific point to maximize the amount without it causing the red light to come on and the machine to stop functioning. The Frog works much better because there is a separate on/off switch on the back.

Additionally, the tank is harder to carry and to place onto the base. THere is a flip up handle, but then it specifically says not to carry by the handle. I've pinched my fingers more than once putting the canister on the base because of the way it fits. And not being able to carry by the handle led to me dropping - and breaking the tank. Not Crane's fault but this is not as good of a design. I'm ordering another one, but this time, it will be a Dragon!

I ordered the Penguin Adorable Humidifier and it is indeed adorable. Unfortunately, I had the product less than one month before the red light appeared, and the product no longer functioned. I read information about how to possibly fix the problem, but my issue was that I was having the problem at all after just purchasing the humidifier. I do have to say that Drugstore.com's customer service was great, and after I receive a replacement, I won't run the humidifier without the demineralization filters. I'm not sure I would recommend this product, but it depends on if you have hard water, I guess...

This is a nice humidifier. It is quiet and easy to clean. The kids love the design. The only drawback is that the penquin mouth causes the vapor to spray out sideways instead of upward.

We have the tear drop shaped Crane humidifier and it sprays the vapor upward. That is a better design.

My seven year old son has some respirtory issues and getting this cool air humidifier has seemed to help him sleep through the night better than when we didn't have it. Its not terribly expensive, the noise is minimal, and it works well in his room. Its about 150 sqft.

If you fill up the vessel, there is a fair amount of residual water left in the base that I think is there to regulate the flow of water. Some people think that this is leaking, but it always seems to be the same amount of water after filling it full.

i got the penquin due to the price difference in this one and the teardrop shaped one. It doesn't even look like a penquin just a blue and white humidifier. haha ;)

it is very quiet and makes quite a difference in the dry heat we have in the house.
Makes it a lot easier breathing when sleeping.

Would buy this again.
I had tried two other humidifier and they were a real pain to fill and buy filters all the time. This one is easy to fill and the filter just slips into the opening and no mess!

I have been running this humidifier nonstop since I got it at the start of January, and it has had NO problems. It is a lightweight humidifier, meaning I don't walk into the room it is running in (bedroom) and feel like I walked into a nice humid room. But the penguin continues to pump out the moisture, so it must be helping a little bit. Cleaning it is a pain, but no more than any other humidifier. I just would love to not clean it for a while. Since it runs constantly, I clean it every time I fill it. One fill lasts over 24 hours at a medium high setting. I would recommend this for a small humidifier.

Our 3y-old daughter loves the Penguin and the steam coming out of his beak looks adorable. Had wanted to get the Frog originally, but several reviews mentioned it is harder to refill and I don't need the night light feature. Yes, it can drip a little when you take the parts off for refilling, but that is to be expected- no leaks under humidifier! It's lightweight enough that I can also take the entire Penguin to the sink. Following online advice we purchased the additional hard water insert and have no issues. The water tank lasts all night (and longer). So far clean-up on the inside has been easy - but we do it a lot to avoid any build-up. I really like that there is no filter insert. Great for kid's room!
