It slipped out of my wife's hand after filling it in the bathtub and it shattered. I thought she was just being clumsy so I ordered another one (also from Drugstore.com)and it slipped out of MY hand and it also shattered...the very first time I was filling it. The problem seems to be in the little handle that is not securely attached to the tank. I also own the "tear dropped" shaped humidifiers from Crane and the handles on those are integrated into the tank and I have not had a problem with those.

Keep on water resistant surface. Unit is close to the ground & when turned on high, floor becomes damp. Somewhat awkward to empty & fill unit.
Really cute design, bright green light indicator acts like a nightlight- I put a sticker over mine to dim it down. Runs constantly on a lower setting for 2 days.

Very cute visually.

However, unike the Frog and similarly shaped Crane humifiers, this one uses the same switch to regulate the vapor flow for turning off the device. This was very inconvenient as it turned out that the vapor had to be set at a specific point to maximize the amount without it causing the red light to come on and the machine to stop functioning. The Frog works much better because there is a separate on/off switch on the back.

Additionally, the tank is harder to carry and to place onto the base. THere is a flip up handle, but then it specifically says not to carry by the handle. I've pinched my fingers more than once putting the canister on the base because of the way it fits. And not being able to carry by the handle led to me dropping - and breaking the tank. Not Crane's fault but this is not as good of a design. I'm ordering another one, but this time, it will be a Dragon!

I ordered the Penguin Adorable Humidifier and it is indeed adorable. Unfortunately, I had the product less than one month before the red light appeared, and the product no longer functioned. I read information about how to possibly fix the problem, but my issue was that I was having the problem at all after just purchasing the humidifier. I do have to say that Drugstore.com's customer service was great, and after I receive a replacement, I won't run the humidifier without the demineralization filters. I'm not sure I would recommend this product, but it depends on if you have hard water, I guess...

I love everything about this product except that you're not supposed to carry it by the handle.That would've made it very convenient.

This is a nice humidifier. It is quiet and easy to clean. The kids love the design. The only drawback is that the penquin mouth causes the vapor to spray out sideways instead of upward.

We have the tear drop shaped Crane humidifier and it sprays the vapor upward. That is a better design.

My seven year old son has some respirtory issues and getting this cool air humidifier has seemed to help him sleep through the night better than when we didn't have it. Its not terribly expensive, the noise is minimal, and it works well in his room. Its about 150 sqft.

If you fill up the vessel, there is a fair amount of residual water left in the base that I think is there to regulate the flow of water. Some people think that this is leaking, but it always seems to be the same amount of water after filling it full.

i got the penquin due to the price difference in this one and the teardrop shaped one. It doesn't even look like a penquin just a blue and white humidifier. haha ;)

it is very quiet and makes quite a difference in the dry heat we have in the house.
Makes it a lot easier breathing when sleeping.

Would buy this again.
I had tried two other humidifier and they were a real pain to fill and buy filters all the time. This one is easy to fill and the filter just slips into the opening and no mess!
