After reading about possible brown spots on teeth, I stopped using. Besides this possible problem, I was also concerned about the overly strong and bitter taste.
I'll be shopping for another mouthwash after carefully reading all the reviews.

Proctor & Gamble should be ashamed to continue selling this product when there are so many complaints all over the Internet. Crest Pro-Health Rinse stained my teeth horribly. My dental hygienist couldn't believe it. It took two cleanings and the black stains still hadn't completely faded away.

Please do not buy this product. It may work just fine for you ... but then, it may NOT! Why take the chance?

Would I recommend this product to a friend? Absolutely not. I wouldn't even recommend it to an enemy!

I use the recommended procedure: I use it twice a day; first floss, then bruth my teeth (I like Aquafresh's "Extreme Whitening" toothpaste; then I rinse my mouth with the Crest ProHealth mouthwash, holding it in my mouth for 3 min. at least. I haven't used it long enough to tell if it helps prevent decay, but it does seem to be effective against bad breath. And it has a great taste.

tried it out a little over a month ago to find an alternative to the 'listerine burn'. first time trying it, it numbed my tongue for a whole day...couldnt taste a thing and even drinking water was weird. but decided to keep on using it. taste eventually came back after using it a few days. read the reviews saying it will stain your teeth but it didnt look like it was doing it to mine so i continued using it. low and behold, after a month i noticed these nasty dark brown/black stains in between some of my teeth...which i have never gotten before in my entire life! luckily i have my normal 6 month teeth cleaning appointment next week.

sorry, this product goes straight to the garbage.

We have dry mouths and other dental rinses contain too much alcohol which both my husband and teenagers find very irritating. Crest Pro-Health has been the answer and is what our dental hygienist highly recommends.

Oh my! So, *this* is what's staining my teeth along the gum line!
I've been blessed with healthy teeth - knock on wood - and the only problem I've had is some "loss of gum" along the front bottom teeth due to overbrushing. One morning I was mortified to see some hard, brown build-up by one of those teeth and I thought there was something terrible going on; it looks like a rotting tooth!
I've been using this mouthwash for about two months and I can't believe how many reviewers report the exact same problem.
I loved that this product wasn't burning my mouth like mouthwashes with alcohol do, but into the trash can it goes now. :/

When I first started using Crest Pro-Health Complete with fluoride, I loved that it didn't have the harsh taste of the other fluoride mouth washes I had tried. After using the product twice a day for about a week, my tongue started tingling intensely, and I lost almost all sense of taste. I checked with my physician, who asked if I had any facial drooping or weakness on one side of the body, which I had not. I stopped using the product and my ability to taste was almost back to normal in about 10 days. It's amazing to see so many people are reporting a similar experience in online reviews. I read on one site that people on low or no salt diets (I am on a low salt diet) may be advised against using fluoride topical rinses; but, I think it was talking about the type prescribed by a dentist, and there is no warning about this on the Crest Pro-Health Complete bottle. I also read that some people may have an allergic response to sodium fluoride and fluoride topical rinses. Anyone who has anything good to say about this product has not used it long enough! I have used it religously, along with the toothpaste, for the past 5 months. Yesterday, I woke up with visible brown spots on all of my teeth around the gum line. Thought it was due to my pregnancy, diet, something - but then did some research and realized that this is what is causing the staining. I am mortified, I have brown teeth and this stuff should be outlawed. Don't buy it until you do a little bit of internet research about the ongoing lawsuit against Crest.
