It really does create a 'shield' that helps soothe and protect your teeth, thus aleviating pain! And it does so while whitening. I do use Crest Weekly clean, too, and together, they work well. Other reviews are incorrect - the skin inside the mouth is NOT peeling off, this is just the clear product settling into nooks of the teeth and gums, and then sometimes you see it in your mouth. Wipe it out with a tissue if it bothers you. Me? I like knowing there is protection going on for my teeth. I definitely like the Enamel Shield Pro Health better than the Whitening Pro Health, it's got more sensitivity protection. Try it! Now in my late 20's, I still suffer from temperature- and sometimes sugar-sensitive teeth. When it's really bad, I buy sensitive formula toothpastes, usually Sensodyne, but after a string of NASTY tasting Sensodyne pastes, I saw this and tried it. I've used the Pro-Health line of pastes before, but this was the first time with the sensitive. Must say I now remember why I stopped using Pro-Health: it's THICK. After just a couple uses, the nozzle gets clogged with gluey toothpaste, leaving just a tiny opening for paste to come out. At first it's OK, just squeeze from the middle for a thin worm of paste to come out. But after only about a month of use, the nozzle is so clogged, I can't squeeze ANYTHING out. The pressure from squeezing at the bottom, middle, top - nothing gets the paste out. I try to dig it out with my finger covered in a tissue, but that only removes a layer, doesn't unplug the hole. So I have to poke tweezers through it to unclog it, but then just one squirt to get the paste out clogs it up all over again. Comments about Crest Pro-Health Sensitive + Enamel Shield Fluoride Anticavity Toothpaste, Smooth Mint, 7.8 oz: I was having problems with sensitivity to both hot and cold items and my dentist suggested I stop using whitening toothpastes because they're pretty harsh. As long as I use this every day I rarely get sensitive spots. If I do I just rinse with flouride for a few days and it always goes away. It doen't work quite as well for whitening as other products, but it's worth the tradeoff to get rid of the sensitivity. And the flavor and price are better than the Sensodyne I tried previously. Comments about Crest Pro-Health Sensitive + Enamel Shield Fluoride Anticavity Toothpaste, Smooth Mint, 7.8 oz: I've been using this toothpaste since it came out, really liking the idea of the enamel guard. My husband has a lot of worn enamel and it is good for him to be using. I only looked at the reviews because I Was surprised that it was 3 stars. A lot of the comments are totally surprising to me. We haven't had any issues using this toothpaste. It tastes really good, the tube never clogs, we've had no staining, and no weird mouth residue (we both always rise when we're done). I think it's great and I will continue buying it! It does help with sensitivity. I don't have proof that it helps the enamel.. but I hope it does! It's a little cheaper and more pleasant than Sensodyne. Pros

Best Uses Comments about Crest Pro-Health Sensitive + Enamel Shield Fluoride Anticavity Toothpaste, Smooth Mint, 7.8 oz: Oh. My. God. I never associated the terrible and increasing staining of my teeth with my freaking toothpaste until I read some of these reviews that this was staining people's teeth brown and went and did some Googling on the subject for myself. But it's true; since I discovered this line, this is *exactly* when the staining really went completely crazy, when I started using using this line! Pros

Best Uses Comments about Crest Pro-Health Sensitive + Enamel Shield Fluoride Anticavity Toothpaste, Smooth Mint, 7.8 oz: I bought this because I have recessions and I was told this would be gentle on my gums, yet still keep my teeth white. My dentist had given me a sample of the regular pro-health, so I thought I'd try it. Within a few months of using it 2-3x along with the pro-health rinse 2x a day, the gaps between my teeth were starting to turn brown. It was disgusting. As someone who takes excellent care of their teeth, and doesn't drink coffee or tea, it took me a while to figure out where this was coming from. I even went to my dentist who polished the stain off of my teeth beause it was bothering me so much. But soon after he polished them I noticed the stain coming back. I happened to be on drugstore.com looking for toothpaste and came across a few other reviews who had the same experience, so I googled it and found out it is a widespread side-effect. If you read the label it actually warns that it can stain. Same with the mouthwash. And even the regular whitening toothpaste says that. Ridiculous. I'll never buy this again. They should pay my whitening bill. Pros

Comments about Crest Pro-Health Sensitive + Enamel Shield Fluoride Anticavity Toothpaste, Smooth Mint, 7.8 oz: I've been using Crest Pro-Health Enamel Shield Toothpaste for over a year. I especially like it because it has helped my teeth not to be sensitive anymore. I love the enamel guard and I trust the Crest name. For those who experience what people are calling "sloughing" of the inside of their mouth, I recommend as soon as you finish brushing your teeth you rinse your mouth immediately. I have experienced this only when I don't rinse immediately after brushing my teeth. It's no big deal, so I don't know why people wouldn't recommend it. Anyway, I highly recommend this toothpaste. I've tried other toothpastes because this is a pricey toothpaste. But I came back to this toothpaste because the sensitivity came back in just a few days. I won't switch again. Pros

Comments about Crest Pro-Health Sensitive + Enamel Shield Fluoride Anticavity Toothpaste, Smooth Mint, 7.8 oz: My only complaint is that it wasn't clear that the product was whitening and whitening wear down tooth ennamel. How can it be emmanel building and wearing down? I don't know exactly if it's doing it's job but it tastes fine. Pros
